I've taken a look this morning and it looks like a wonderful show...I'm so excited about it, too, and I'm not even participating. The bears and bunnies are wonderful and it looks like a huge success. Congrats to all of you and especially to Penny for setting everything in motion.
Pauline: Your daughter is gorgeous...and so is her Frenchman...and Go Mom! to your mother. One of the things about getting older is that you don't have to worry so much about what people say. Now who would have turned down a ride from that guy?
These kitties are so cute. I love their faces. I've missed seeing all your wonderful creations.
Hi Krista...you've been so quiet lately. This guy is a real sweetheart. Love his face.
Lynette! Please say that you'll be back...your note does sound like you won't return to TT. If you have things going on in your life right now that pull you away, I'm sure we all understand...but please don't go away forever.
What a lovely little creature. She's just beautiful.
They were the best pets ever, Babaloo thought she was a dog and used to come in to house to lay her eggs.
How cute is that! Babaloo was also very smart. She was a fancy chick and didn't want to lay her eggs just anyplace.
Eliza, I've been thinking about you the last few days and wondering where in the world you were on your new adventure. The pictures are wonderful. What an amazing site the Falls must be and rainbows are magical. You're really happy to be there...I can read it in your post. I'm so glad you arrived safely and you like the area.
And you're cute as a button in your braids.
Beautiful. I love the fur you're using on her and the bear in your avatar.
I love mysteries and didn't know about these teddy books. Are the two you mentioned the only two in the series as of now? I'll look for them. Thanks.
I just went to his website. I haven't even seen his books before and I'm already hooked. He started his career in law enforcement in Riverside County, which is where I live, at the Indio Sheriff's Station, which is where I live! That is, I live in Indio, not the Sheriff's Station and I love reading local authors.
The birds are beautiful and it's just amazing to me that you have these birds flying freely in your garden. The only pets I had while growing up were birds. We had an aviary that my father built out back and it was filled with cockatiels, a variety of finches and parakeets. And, of course, we had some inside the house as well. It must be such a joy to watch these birds in your garden.
I keep telling Allyn about your beautiful birds in Australia and he keeps reminding me of Australia having a number of the most deadly snakes and spiders. I wonder if that's true or he's just discouraging me from wanting to go to Australia.
Until you said the photo was for comparison, I though they were a moma cat and kitty. Very cute. Sweet face.
He is so adorable just like he is. I love orange and blue together. He's all dressed up and ready to go.
Yosimite is a beautiful place. It's been years since I was there. Its beauty is always breathtaking. Glad to have you back.
Beautiful girls, Sandi. The first picture looks like a little baby doll. Just precious. And I love the nudie on the towels. They're all wonderful.
You'll embarrass her no end when you start relating the poopie story when she's a teenager.
I have to get in on this! It's hot, hot, hot here, and I never get used to the heat. Winters are wonderful and mild, but they're so short.
This morning our paper tells us we've had 30 days over 100 as of yesterday...2006, we had 41 days over 100 by the same date. Today we're headed to 110 today and 115 by the weekend.
We've seen 100 temps in January and February while we've been in the desert. And 120-129 is not unusual for summer. The hottest day since we moved to the desert was 130 maybe 10 years ago.
We can have very dry, dry heat...like single digit numbers, and we can have very high humidity, at least for us...high can be as much as 80%. Thankfully, those days aren't the 120s. The humidity comes in mid-July through September. And we don't really cool off until November...which means maybe 70s. It makes me crazy for people to say, "Yeah, but you have a dry heat." I tell them to come in August.
Our air conditioning comes on sometime between March and May and stays on 24/7 through October...though it may go on and off a few times in October. Our ceiling fans also run 24/7. There are maybe 14/15 days through the summer than you can open windows or doors. Summer can be miserable for sleeping as it doesn't cool off at night. The overnight low can be in the 90s and 100s.
I would so much prefer colder weather. The heat here can make people crazy. I always have a bottle or water with me when I leave the house...and I've learned to drink water that has turned hot enough to steep tea when I've left it in the car. Swimming pools can reach temperatures of 105 and many people have a type airconditioning unit on their pools to keep the water cool enough to get into.
We've never used our fireplace. The people behind us will use their fireplace in the winter but they have to open their sliding doors and windows.
But from November through March (if we're lucky) can be absolutely perfect weather so if you ever come for a visit here, plan a winter trip.
They are beautiful. You are so lucky to have such beauties visit you.
I love her! What a cute little face she has and her little dress is adorable.
I'm signing up for Judi's class right now!
What a great story, Jodi. The kids must be so excited and it sounds like you are, too.
JoAnn's and Michaels here in the desert are very poor stores. You always have to wait and wait in line at the register. I don't buy their fabric. I avoid both stores unless I need something right now and there's no other place.
We only have one quilt store in Palm Desert and I shop there alot but they sometimes don't have the variety I like. Then I shop on line at www.eQuilter.com I've never been disappointed with their fabric. They carry only quality fabric and you can tell by the manufacturer's name what the quality will be.
The quilt store is also a bead store...one stop shopping, but they only carry cotton thread so I go to my Bernina dealer for all my polyester thread for bears. They know me and I like shopping someplace that knows me.
How cute is that! Looks like she's staying close to mom or dad. I love that little tongue peeking out.

Hooray . . . Jane has her groove back!!!
Ditto! Can't wait to see pictues!
Yikes, sounds like you've had quite a year so far. Hope the rest of 07 is much safer for you. Maybe bubble wrap isn't such a silly idea.
She's just darling. Her legs look perfect!
So cute! I love your flamingo.
