Looking at the show pictures posted, I am wondering do artists look like their creations.??
Often one is sent emails with the owner and dog looking alike and some can be remarkable.

Thanks all for sharing the day with us. Collectors must have had a hard time deciding on what to take home.

INSTALLING A HUSBAND
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0,NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the System.
Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate.
DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html, try to download Tears 6.2, and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If those applications work as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer6.1.
Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta. Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually
seize control of all your system resources.)
In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program.
This is an unsupported application and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck!

Are you currently shaking your head wondering what is going on in the financial markets?
Here is a small story (from Africa) that illustrates it nicely.
Once upon a time, in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.
The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out into the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands of monkeys at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort.
The man then further announced that he would now buy at $20 for a monkey.
This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.
The man increased the price to $25 per monkey, and the supply of monkeys became so small that it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50!
However, since he had to go back to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers:
"Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected.
I will sell them to you at $35 and, when the man returns from the city, you can then sell them to him for $50 each."
The villagers rounded up all their earnings, dipped into their savings, paid the assistant, and bought all the monkeys at $35 each.
They never saw the man, nor his assistant, again ... only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works.
Karen , just seen your delightful cat "begging" I for sure will throw a few pennies into the hat.
I am preparing for the shows in the East, and I have turned my hand at other things to take with and not to rely purely on bear sales. It is getting my brain moving and my friend and myself had a good day, making flower brooches, shall see if they sell or not. Each one we finished we said" well that will pay for breakfast" and so on.
So if no sales we will come back slimmer.

Ok so I am not going totally mad, it can and does happen. I am reverting back to laying out the side muzzle , with the mohair all pointing in a downward direction, normally I lie the muzzle with the direction of the pile going to the sides. Perhaps ( I am going to sit and play around) this is giving me more stretch in the mohair which is distorting the head.
I think your hand that is used normally(dominant) does have a bit more strength and this could also create the lop sided head.
With the dolls I am doing, they suggest for the eyebrows that you first to the opposite one to the dominant hand, as it is easier to complete the other side.

I agree, the world economy is going to take time to recover, never mind the politicians all not knowing what they want.
However it is in difficult times like these, that many new ideas are formed, as life has to go on, one has to find other ways of supplementing an income.
At the end of the day, it is still horrid and depressing when your work does not sell and you need the funds from your bear making to supplement your income.
Gemma have you tried singing on the street corner ???????

Maybe we will get some more imput. Unless this is a "bad head" year for me, I do get my bad eye days and ear days. Some days they fit perfectly others well, many a head has almost landed in the dustbin. I am sure I will be reported for abusing teddy bears .
Lynette
Does it happen to others or am I at times just plain stupid. I know the center seam (Chin) is in line with the middle of the muzzle and that the sewing is as perfect as I can get it when making the head.
Sometimes I find that after stuffing the head, it starts "going out of proportion" I have tried several methods, stuffing from the back, then towards the nose area, stuffing the left side then moving to the right side, yet the odd head still goes wonky. This then throws out the eye positions, ears etc.
I also make sure that when I cut out the head, I place both side pieces on the same grain in the fabric as some fabric can have more stretch which will result in one side having a bit more give and therefore more filler will be in that side if the side pieces are placed differently on the fabric.
The filler I use has a "rougher" texture as I find this tends to stay in place better than a soft filler.
My one German friend showed me a way which is making layers, one on top of the next, when inserting you insert from the middle and push out, this works well with the bigger bears, but anything 10" and under you space you have to work in is much smaller so not that easy.
I never seem to have this problem in the beginning, is it just that I am trying to be too perfect or plain dumb ?
Any ideas on this?
Lynette
I am into doll making.
I have a large tray with the doll paints and parts, and another large tray with the bears, while the dolls bake , bears get made.
Jewelery would also be interesting to do, but somehow I think I have enough on the go. Looks like you have a talent for both bears and jewelery. Enjoy and have fun .

Stunning

What a talented artist you are

More and more large companies will have to cut back with the spiral in banking houses in chaos worldwide, and we will be seeing more and more of this.

These skeins are like socks- you always put two socks in the washing and one returns !!!!
I have tried pulling the right thread, only to also land up with a "knotted" mess. In the end I wrap them around a small plastic/cardboard with the name written on the top.
These cards are normally sold where they sell the threads and you get boxes that they can be stored in.
When I sold these DMC skeins I was able to purchase a box that had long cards in it. You could wrap about 10 colors onto one card with the color printed onto the cards. These boxes took the full range with a few extra blanks for when they added to the collection.

How can one's heart not be touched by these wonderful creatures we are lucky enough to have in our lives.

I think the organizers do have their contacts but they the larger chain of hotels and he would prefer to stay in something smaller. If he cannot find a place he will have to try the larger chain of hotels.
Living with someone in training is a pain, as he is in full training now, and beware anyone who comes near to him
with the sniffles!!!. right now I have a sore throat and both my grandson and daughter on are medication for colds and coughs so we are not popular.
I would have been going with but the dates coincide with my trip to Taiwan and Korea, and to have flown from SA, to USA then onto Korea etc would have been expensive and I would have been totally shattered.
As we also know Teddy Bears are far more important
Lynette
Maybe someone can help living in the USA. Hubby is in Clearwater, Florida beginning of November, and is trying to find a reasonable place to stay at. So far he has tried via the internet and they all seem to be fully booked.
He is representing SA in the half Iron Man Championships in his age group .
Any ideas ???
thanks
Lynette
Thanks for that Daphne.
I have been looking for a pair of old/vintage/antique doll or baby black boots. With my trip to Taiwan and Korea, to make more space in my suitcase for goods I want to buy there, I have made a smaller range of bears using some antique German mohair. I thought for display purposes a pair of boots will look good on the table.
tried the Evil Bay and not come up with anything there.
Any ideas ?
Lynette
Vicky I suppose you can be pleased that you were out of the house, can never tell what could have happened had you been home.

Yesterday I received a parcel in the post , all the way from Australia. Dear Wendy, had sent me my very own puddles.
Wendy thank you so much one somehow never seems to have the right words to say when someone is so generous.
As soon as I get my camera out I will share my puddles.
