Maybe someone can help living in the USA. Hubby is in Clearwater, Florida beginning of November, and is trying to find a reasonable place to stay at. So far he has tried via the internet and they all seem to be fully booked.
He is representing SA in the half Iron Man Championships in his age group .
Any ideas ???
thanks
Lynette
Florida is a tourist area and as soon as it gets cold up north here everyone heads down there. And if there is an event going on there it will most certainly be booked and likely has been for months.

Here is a link to the Chamber of Commerce's website. The chamber is an organization that provides all area businesses or commerces in a city a place to come together as one entity for advertising and networking. Most major cities and many smaller towns all across the US have them so a visitor can go to their site and find a restaurant, hotel, car rental place, retail shops, tour guides, etc. It's a travel and tourism service.
Anway... the link above is the home page for links to hotels, etc. in the area. There will be more listed there than what he's likely to find doing a regular internet search. He might want to consider staying in neighboring town also... Dunedin is beautiful and just 4 miles from the center of Clearwater. I'm sure he could get public transportation to where he needs to be. Hopefully one of our Florida TTers will have even better suggestions but perhaps what I've offered is a start!
thanks Daphne, will pass this onto him.

Lynette,
Unfortunately, the winter months are considered the busy season for that portion of Florida. I would suggest he look for a place in St. Petersburg or Tampa. As Daphne suggested Dunedin might also be a good place to look. Has he checked with the competition organizers to see if they have a block of rooms set aside?
I hope he does well in the competition.
Hugs,
I think the organizers do have their contacts but they the larger chain of hotels and he would prefer to stay in something smaller. If he cannot find a place he will have to try the larger chain of hotels.
Living with someone in training is a pain, as he is in full training now, and beware anyone who comes near to him
with the sniffles!!!. right now I have a sore throat and both my grandson and daughter on are medication for colds and coughs so we are not popular.
I would have been going with but the dates coincide with my trip to Taiwan and Korea, and to have flown from SA, to USA then onto Korea etc would have been expensive and I would have been totally shattered.
As we also know Teddy Bears are far more important
