Sounds silly, but I forget that in Australia you guys have summer soon. Just as I'm gearing up for winter.
I'm jeaous!!!
Heather
Dilu, you have to use this
http://cgi.ebay.ca/100g-HAND-DYED-GOTLA … dZViewItem
This is what my unicorn's mane and tail were made of.
It's hard to felt, but it's still a natural fibre, so it will felt evenually.
Alot of Doll artists use this stuff. Of course the auction is just an example, and boy do I have tonnes of the stuff!
Heather
WHat a cool band concert!!
Must be a big band, we never had the option of playing the cello.
Heather
Thanks Daphine, it's always nice to vent, and to see that someone else agrees with you. Just making sure I'm not a super bit@# LOL
Not sure if this'll work, but it hits my funny bone just right!!!

Make sure you have your sound on!!
Heather
You guys are soo clean!!!!
I feel so gross now, I only vacuum once a week, sometimes once every two weeks if I'm really lazy.
I like dusting, it's fun to see my stuff, re-orgainze it and clean it.
I HATE the bathroom. well, I don't mind the bathroom, but I can never get my tub looking clean, and that annoys me to the point where I don't want to bother.
Cooking is fun, I love to cook , but I hate having the burden on deciding what's for dinner everynight. Good thing the hubby does the dishes as well, I hate dishes.
I love cleaning my studio as well. Weird I know.
Sarah, you really like house work?? Isn't that a kicker, the one person who likes doing it can't. Just doesn't seem fair!
Heather
Ahh, had to jump in on this work, as I am at work today.
Pet peeve, being started at ( Like you Kim BEE ) My coworker that sits next to me has very poor social skills, and while I am nice to him, and I do see that he does have good points ) he stares at me all day. I just KNOW he is trying to think of something to talk to me about. Just now, the whole while typing this, leaning in close to my computer, he is staring at me and just said " On Friday, you had said something to Cindy ( another co-worker) about your weekend"" WHAT????? Why does he need to know. Poor guy. Just can't think of anything better to say. I have no idea how to tell him to not stare at me without being rude. I do have to sit beside him for 9 hrs a day.
He also stands right behind my chair and talks to the back of my head, or leans in real close to read my computer screen. Regardless of whats on there, personal or not.
PHEW! I think I feel better. Thanks......
Heather
You guys!!!! You were supposed to have the SAME opinion on what is your favorite ribbon!!! now I have LOTS of shopping to do!! LOL
Well, I'm going to check out those links, thanks Dilu, Penny and Jenny.
And nice bear Daphine!! Love what you've done with the fabic
Oh my, soo scared to go shopping. I also need fabric, gonna try sewing some teddy clothes.
Soo much stuff to buy..............
Heather
Hello, happy Saturday to all.
So, here's the deal. I don't have any ribbon and I wish I did. I would like a SMALL collection to add to my other goodies.
My problem is I don't know where to start. I'm finding this even more overwhelming than when I started buying mohair.
I see at Walmart you can buy whole rolls for pretty cheap, but I don't need whole rolls.
Maybe Ebay is the place to go, and maybe get a 'lot' of ribbon.
What do you guys like for Ribbon??
Plain, no pattern?
Patterned?
Wired edge?
Any specific material I should be looking for?
See? I have no experience with this sort of stuff.
I know some of you must have tonnes of ribbon right?? :rose:
Thanks....
Heather
Don't give up. It can be hard. Selling anything can be hard. It just all depends on soo many things.
Your work is great, just keep at it.
Heather
Good luck! You are very talented! I love your gollies, thier little clothes are perfect and you do the lips VERY well! I could go on forever.
Thanks for showing us some pics, good luck!
Heather
Thanks guys, You've saved me!!
I might have a disk that is slightly bigger for the body. If not I'll use the same sized disk.
Thanks for the link Shelli. Haven't tried a crown joint yet. Hopefully I don'dt break the pin trying
Heather
Sooo cute. I'm in love!
Not sure if you're being rude at all. Artists draw inspiration from eachother all the time. Plus, the two bears look very different.
Heather
Eileen, You sure sound handy.
I just got the perfect mental image of you hauling a HUGE couch down the stairs!!
Heather
Thanks Danni,
It was a while ago that I've tried it. Maybe I just didn't give it a good chance.
I'll give it a go again, thanks :rose:
Heather
Some sellers make me so mad!!!
Although, I would ask the post office why there is extra postage. That is weird.
Now imagine being a Canadain, ordering from Intercal, paying for postage, and getting left a tag saying I owe $25 to pick it up.
I hate customs.
Heather
Urrrgh! I sure wish it was me.
Imagine all the mohair I could buy!! LOL
Heather
Hey guys. Trying to finish a teddy today and have a question about the joints.
I really want this bear to be able to stand. The legs and feet are just right for it, but I want a good tight joint. All I have are disks and cotter pins so I know that the size of the joint is going to be very important here. Larger the better right?
So, because the larger the joint you can fit, the better, is it okay to put a large disk inside the body? Obviously I can fit a much larger disk into the body, than what will fit in the leg or arm. Is this a good idea, or should both disks be the same size.
For some reason I just can't picture what the outcome will be.
Thanks
Heather
Interesting Idea Penny, I'll have to try that out.
Thanks for all the pictures as well.
And as for answering the question, I tend to leave my noses just the way they are after I embroider them, so I can't be of much help.
Heather
What a great face!!!!
May I ask you how you did that nose?? Is if felted??
I really like the puffy cheeks,
Heather
