I must be wicked too Denise. Got most of my cards made, my ornament nearly made. Then... 20 necklaces made for wedding favors, a chiffon top for my sister who is to be "bridesmaid" my top nearly done, my neices petticoat is done, skirt needs hem and bodice to be done still. Havnt decided yet wether to make my slacks and "under top" or try and find in SA. Trying to get winter clothing washed and dried to wear in Lyon for a few days, but it has rained here all week. Then had the "boss" here so had to clean up everything (and loose most of it). Got to get house clean to leave it empty for a month (fridge, cupboards etc) and we fly on the 3rd Dec.... Bear swap bear going with me to do, Why do I do this to myself????
very very good, makes perfect sense too
I started looking at batch on, then went to have the 5 min break.... forgot I was doing the test and went shopping
Daphne I saw some other posts were like that but your last with the 2 bears came through fine????
Daphne you were brave to start this topic, and I think it is brilliant... Too often something doesnt look right... now we can all chat about it.... I agree with the eye spacing. What about slightly bigger ears though? I wouldnt go too heavy on the shading and hope you dont get a comment like I did once, was told Traditional bears DONT get shaded... I used to be quited scared of making bears until I met all of you. thought there were too many rules. Gosh you going to think I am trashing the poor souls,,, how about bending their elbows a bit? I think they have got the most amazing head shape the gussett shape really works. I like the proportion chin, nose & forehead. , would love to see a side view of the face. I should imagine the nose is really strong and maybe the crit is because of the dimension of the photo. It looks like the eyes are "deeper" than they appear??? And I think the shape of the paw pads is a winner. So brave you are to try something new.
Well now you have opened a can of worms.... I think it is something in the actual camera... There are little men inside that re arrange the pixles you see.... I look in the mirror and think, "not too bad", believe I behave like a moderately happy confident person. Then the photo's come out and I look like an idiot.... So you see it has nothing to do with the way the world sees you at all
They are beautiful, and the leg flying across the room
That was so amazing, talk about a bear hug
Well done on your "sliver" award. Have to echo Shane on his sentiment too. I thought you deserved a first, But very well done

Got it. Thanks Melissa for organising. Ditto all the feelings about feeling like a kid a christmas. You have done a good thing It is wonderful to be able to share Christmas with friends here.
That is such a good idea. I had 3 bears in a comp once and was more impressed with coments like " accessory slightly too heavy" and things like that. Was nice to hear I had neat seams and correct placement of ears and eyes, but the constructive comments are the ones that stuck the most. And it is no good asking someone what they think and they just say "its cute". For me to look at detail properly I take photos with Macro. That shows up any out of place stitch, very unforgiving and unemotional. But still would be good to hear from people in the know.
oh you poor poor thing. What a horrible thing to go through at any time, but on your birthday....
I love it
Have been reading all the posts about ebay. Have never tried selling a bear yet, and am now seriously doubting my "wisdom" of starting with ebay. Have seen some of the artists with blogs doing "parades" etc and I think that is one way to go. I am in a fortunate position of not having to sell. For my own feeling of self worth would like an income, but will still eat regardless. But I honestly think that with everything else that goes into the business, ebay is shooting itself in the foot.
I really dont mean this in a bad way at all. He reminds me of cousin IT on the Adams Family. Too cute for words. Well done you for thinking out of the box. I love him
opps
I found the poem, and found that there was a society too. I really feel daft now. Never realised there was such a following for Red hats and purple.
I love them all. Dawn, is Purlpe inspired by a poem? My Mom is always on about the red hat thing and I cant find that poem. She has it on her sewing room wall. And I am soooo in love with James. His face is just like my big bear I got when I was a child. I still have him but he is living with my Mom's hug because he was too big to come with us.
I am about to do 11 flights in a month..... I sure am feeling comfy and secure now. Makes my paranoia about people using cel phones a bit silly now
Hi Cloe
Well done and good luck. you will have loads of fun. THere is a big colony in Simons Town. Is that where you are going? Cape Town is beautiful and there is alot you can do there without spending too much. Kirstenbosch gardens is stuning (Botanical garden) and all the wineries. Ok they are espensive, charged about 4 times more for a bottle of water! But worth driving out to see the old houses. Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak make a stunning day out. We even saw a whale and her baby in the bay there. In Observtory in Cape Town there are some really nice clubs, very arty student area, I loved the atmosphere there. PM me if you need any help. Don't guarantee anything, but have spent a fair amount of time in Cape Town and am a South African. Would love you to have a good experience there. Will be going back in 3 weeks time for a month, and getting really excited.
Had a listen and cant recognise it. But see loads of people are asking on youtube so maybe someone will figure it out. Good luck
oh Lynette they are all so cute. Love the teddy's face, she is very very sweet. Tha hats are wonderful. Hope all is well with the little one. Have a fantastic trip. See you soon.
gosh you have had a time of it.... I learned from that. I now stop and think before I click. You know in science they have a nano second???? in my life it is a "oh no second". It it the second that your hand is committed to doing something you know you are going to regret, and takes forever to sort out. Glad you are up an running again. Oh,,,, this may help anyone else out there that is as thick as me ( I doubt it). I cleaned my lap top screen yesterday and must have had a drop of water on my hand. It ran down the side of the screen and made icicles down the side. If this ever happens, dont panic, it has dried itself out and all is well. I did have 1000 panic attacks though. Sorry to crash your post but thought it was a valid point
Thank you all, specially Tamil, going to give it a try just now. Did figure the layers, then the other day it just wouldnt work
