For some, it may not be warm.....but for us from the cold North, Wilmington is definately warm...er........
Hi all, Well, we left the cold, snowy North Country on Monday headed for the warmer climate of Wilmington, DE to help my sister with some much needed home repair. The reason we choose this week is that on Saturday, Dec. 5 there is a craft show at her church, St. Paul;s UM church, Foulk Rd, Wilmington DE. If there is anyone who lives nearby, stop in on Saturday, before 2PM and say hi.................Hope it is a worthwhile show.... lots of time away from home and lots of critters that want to be adopted!!!!

This beautiful Alpaca piece was purchased in Florida, no idea who made it. It ended up in a pricey home here in Northern New York that was being sold due to a job change. My hubby bought it for about 1/20th the original cost. It also came with a matching pillow plus 2 white pillows.....the pillows are very large and soft and fluffy. Now it just hangs on the wall, and yes, I do want to hug it!!!!  I wouldn't have the faintest idea of where to start to make such a piece.....................

It has taken me a month and a half to get my birthday present on the wall. Had to clean the sewing/bear room first.
This picture was made completly from Alpaca Fur. The colors and details are amazing......Just had to share!!

" I's ain't happys"................
I just participated in a Webinar from my credit card accepting company. After hearing all the information, I am thinking of dropping CC acceptance. There is a lot to worry about with CC thefts. I have been accepting CC for about 5 years, but with the expense, I am not sure it is worth it, since I seem to only process about 10 CC a year. My website accepts PayPal and that works for me. For live shows, it might be (for me anyway) cash or checks.
If you want to know more about the info. I am talking about, PM or email me.
Ellen
thanks for doing this, and including me at the last minute! Good job....can't wait for the cards to start going 'round!

The Gingerbread Man was here, took some pictures.....all ready to be mailed, but have to wait until Monday!!!! Hope your Postal strike ends soon so all the mail gets to Evie. The Gingerbread Man was concerned about me getting to the Post Office, but I told him not to worry, I will send it out Monday Morning.

Hard to believe that baby hippos can be soooo small and grow into an animal that is sooooo big! Very cute photo.

I get my polyfil right from Fairfield in CT. The shipping is a little high, but check out their website: poly-fil.com. As long as you have a tax id for your state, or something equivalent, they can ship direct. You can't order on-line, need to call them....
Good Luck!
Ellen
looks like they need a 4th.....can I play?????
I know I saw the Gingerbread Man taking a walk through the Adirondacks looking at all the leaves turning colors! He doesn't want to stay too long, he wants to leave before the snow falls!

I read a report this morning about Franzi, another Moon Bear at the Rescue Center who has passed on. The best thing is that, after over 20 years in a small cage, she spent 7 years at the center with her good best friend, Rupert, romping in the grass and having fun and nutrious food. One of the Moon Bears I made to travel was named after Franzi. My Franzi went to Australiz, New Zealand, England and China. She went to China with Jill Robinson and met Franzi and other "real" moon bears.
I will be doing a couple of events next weekend (Oct. 18) for Moon Bears. I have a Teddy Bear Picnic planned for children during the day, and in the evening I have an event for adults with door prizes and info on moon bears. I am nervous about these events, hoping I get some people to show up! (but not so many I can't handle them!!!) I really just want people to know about the abuse that goes on against all creatures.....I pray that someday the abuse will stop all over.......................
Thanks for letting me vent.....................

All God's Critters gotta stretch!!!!

he must think he is in heaven!!!! Very cute...............
I have wandered through the Build A Bear stores. I think they are cute, but expensive. We live about 2 hours from the closet store....so I try to advertise my Stuff-A-Bear Workshop for birthday parties. I have done a few parties, Moms like it because it saves them from traveling, and I am less expensive, the kids love it because they get to put their hands in the stuffing, fill the bear the way they want, I even have hearts for them! Then we play Pin-The-Tail on the Bear and listen to a story, the whole time we listen to Teddy Bear Music.......each child gets a certificate that tells them they stuffed their own bear and how to take care of it (daily hugs and little treats of honey on occasion) Not really a birth certificate, but it is something.
I don't make clothes for the bears, because I don't enjoy doing the clothes, and I also like my bears naked (or bare) I have been trying to get some adults to get their friends together and do a bear party....no takers yet, but I have done a fund raiser and had about 20 adults stuff and take their "pink" breast cancer bear with them.
