I never knew they could get that either.  Poor little Pippin.  I bet he is being extremely well looked after though.  Hopefully his discomfort will settle down soon.  Big cuddles to him from Muffy.

Hi Diane,  The teddy bear world, and especially the collectors will really miss your wonderful creations.  I certainly hope that maybe your bears might just be going into "hibernation" for a little while and that in some time in the future, we may see you creating again.  All the best for whatever you decide to do.

I have done several classes with Linda, and they are just the best.  If you ever get the chance to take one of Linda's classes, jump in.  You always have so much fun and learn lots and lots of different techniques.

She  is a beautiful little girl Clare, her face is just so full of emotion.  I hope she does well for you.

Take care,

I have really enjoyed reading this topic and agree how incredibly important a special item, like a teddy bear, can be in comforting someone, be it child or adult.  I sometimes think the appeal to a child of a teddy bear is that from a strictly design point of view, their eyes are looking directly at you, which is a great initial "emotinal" attachment, and also most teddys are designed to have their arms outstretched, which makes them look like they are ready to be held and given a hug.

When you look at a teddy with outstretched arms, I think you have the urge immediately to pick them up and respond with a cuddle.  Perhaps a little more than say a toy horse or duck or whatever, that doesn't have that "arm" body language talking to you.  Am I making any sense at all?

Thanks so much girls, you all all terrific.  Isn't Shylie just the prettiest name?  I had never heard it before, and it is the name of one of the nurses looking after my husband.  She says it is Irish.  As soon as I heard it I knew I had to remember it for one of my little babies.  This little girl elephant just seemed to suit that name.
