How in the world did he think about having a mustache tatoo put on his finger??? Must be the 20 year old mind.
Jodi...you look too young for a 20 year old son...must be that crazy sense of humor that keeps you looking so youthful!
You'd think at my age I wouldn't be so darn gullible!
Oh, he's beautiful...but are you sure he's a boy? He looks like a beautiful bride to me.
Wendy...glad to see you're feeling a little bit better about this...since you realize it really had nothing to do with you.
But you say you never got a copy of your evaluations? Do ask your attorney about this because I thought it was required of an employer to give the employee a signed copy on the day of his face-to-face evaluation. And you should also be able to review your own HR file. What...your file is so confidential that not even you can see it? Sounds like questionable business practices to me.
Glad you'll be seeing an attorney. People don't often want to because they think it's expensive. I was a legal secretary for 15 years (in my younger days) and you'd be surprised what one visit to the attorney can accomplish. Sometimes it only takes a letter from a law office to get what you need....it can be money well spent in many cases.
Good luck...keep us posted.

Jodi...how do you come up with this stuff?
Holy Cow...that's a big boy. Amazing...
Jodi and Gemma...you two are just so bad...shame on you....
I use file folders for my patters. You can buy folders with sides, but they're very expensive, so I buy the store brand and use a Scotch clear packing tape (it's about 2 inches wide) to take the sides of the folders. Inside I have a sheet with all the information about what supplies I used and a sample or two of the mohair and wool felt, where the bear went to live and any notes I might think of for the next time I want to use the pattern. I file by bear name. I also put in a picture. They're easy to put in a file cabinet or a file tray.
I didn't know about clear envelopes...that sounds great.
Great page and wonderfully done. I just love those Puddles!
Oh, I'm so sorry for your problem. And, paleeese, you don't have to be a fur wearer to know the difference between mink and rabbit!
Should't ebay have policies against false statements? Maybe she makes her requirements so ridiculous, i.e., 25% refund on the price, or you pay for returning and she'll get to sell it again...quite a racket, because she thinks most people will just keep the jacket to avoid all the hassle and/or a loss on what they purchased.
I see so many of you using ebay and doing so well with your sales, and then I see that so many of you also have trouble with the site for various reasons. I don't think I'll ever try ebay but one day I hope to use B4B as it just sounds so much safer.
Good luck with this; hope you can settle it to your satisfaction.
Agree, agree, agree...you've done a great job. Paula did a wonderful job setting forth the English equivalent of what you were intending to say. Very impressive to have set up your site in three languages and your bears are adorable little things.
This is a great topic. Thanks, Jodi, for your "creative pamphlet." Lots of good information. And the light box you have is a great idea. Your picture turned out beautifully so who cares what your light box looks like. I use one of those tri-fold boards like kids use with their science projects and try to use light through the window...that doesn't always work, though.
Daphne: Could you explain how you do the needle felted nose base...do you needle felt right into the bear's nose or do you created it on one of those thingies for needle felting and then put it onto the nose? Actually, I would love to get away from having to make a felt template because no matter how hard I work at it, it's a little different on each side and I have to make adjustments to my nose while stitching. So the idea of a needle felted nose to start with sounds great.
Michelle: You know you can get those face covers like painters were at places like Home Depot and Lowe's. They do help.
I enjoyed your site, too. Every time I see one of your bears I have to remind myself tha they are crocheted. Amazing!
All cute, but I love that little black guy on the white fur; no. 5 looks like he's posing for his Holloween picture; and that last one is just precious with all those sweet, little, innocent faces. Very cute.
Very cute.
A quote from the link Gemma sent:
"It (the croc) probably was shocked, and opened its mouth to let go of the limb," zoo official Chen Po-tsun was quoted as saying.
Duh...the croc was shocked...what about that poor man...
Seems like they would have better procedures for sedating than sticking your arm through a fence to give the croc a tranquilizer.
Ewwwwie
I agree that Michelle gave excellent advice. I would add that you certainly have an HR file and if you've been there 10 years, you should have had yearly evaluations of your work. As Michelle said, you should have known way ahead of time if your work was less than satisfactory because your supervisor should have been going over your evaluation with you and setting goals. It wouldn't hurt to contact an attorney and perhaps he could get your HR records.
I wish you luck. When we first moved to the desert, I got a job with a well-known agricultural company...well, long story short, at 6 months I was called in and "laid-off," along with many others, due to downsizing. The was, the company treasurer had recently died and with that came the discovery that she kept two sets of books. Of course, management knew that all along, blah, blah, blah.
But I cried when they told me and I cried all day. It was the most humiliating experience I'd every had...I'd never had anything but excellent evaluations throughout my job history. It was devastating so I do understand and I do feel your pain. But you have to remember it was not your doing.
This is a great topic. As for bandaids, I always ram the sharp end of the needle into my fingers so I keep a box in my little tool kit. I usually go through 3 or 4 with each bear session.
Thanks, Connie, for the info on glue and stuffing. I've become very disappointed with what I can buy locally. I swear they've changed the content. The last couple of bears just don't feel right; they feel kind of spongy and I just don't like that feel.
I do use a nose template that I make myself out of felt. I would loooove to be able to stitch the nose without a template like Paula and Connie.
I've never used an auction, but I'm wanting to try B4B, but I'm not sure I could figure it out. And I bought an airbrush over a year ago that I've tried to use, but couldn't seem to get the hang of it so I'm anxious to take Judi's next class when that date is set.
Well, thank you, Veronica, for pointing that out...so prorating my length of membership by the number of posts...I will now consider myself a Junior Windbag until I hit the 1000 mark!
What a little sweetheart. Just precious.
Great site. Don't think I could have just one favorite...all are wonderful, although I do love the sweet post by Purple Haze.
Wow, a 1000 sounds like alot til you hear Sue Ann's 8430! Don't think anyone can catch her. I'm a mere baby with only 304...but I will persevere!
Aaahhhh....Very cute picture of the two of them. Looks like they've already become fast friends.
Synchronized swimming...very smart duckies.
Beautiful little girl. I love what you do with the eyes. It's very unique.
