Heather, you say you stuff with glass beads in the feet so I have a question. I purchased glass beads when I first started bear making and when they arrived they were so itsy bitsy teensy that I was afraid to use them thinking they might work their way out of the mohair backing.

So do you have this problem? Do you sew them into little bags of muslin first? If so, how you you get them distributed in the foot?

I would appreciate yours and everyone's advice on how they use glass beads.

Thanks...Marlys

Too, too funny. Thanks.

Very sorry to hear about your pain and I'm sure it is very scary when you don't really know what's causing it. Be positive if you can and know that many are thinking of you and sending good thoughts.

Marlys

Oooohhh, that hurts. And you drove yourself to the ER! Very brave. Take care of yourself and no more improvs from scary movies.

Marlys

I appreciate your responses. I never do click on anything and do forward the e-mail to e-Bay or PayPal. It's a shame that people just can't be honest. It wouldn't occur to me to make a fradulent bid or in some other way rip someone off; I just worry about what information they can get.

Marlys

I'm speaking from my experience as a buyer and it seems no one else has trouble with PayPal so I'm way in the minority.

I did register for PayPal for an auction that required it. I had no problem. I've only purchased a few times and so my PayPal account became dormant. But I kept getting this e-mails from PayPal saying to got to a site to update my information because someone had been detected trying to use my account. I never did, of course, but I sent each e-mail to PayPal and they responded that the e-mail didn't come from them. I still occasionally get those kinds of messages. So that makes me reluctant to use PayPal.

Also, I get e-mails from e-Bay, at least they say they are, telling me a buyer has not received my auction but I've collected money for it and they are going to sue me and turn me in to the FBI. I've never sold anything on e-Bay. I forward these to e-Bay and they tell me it didn't come from them. I only used e-Bay about four times and it concerns me that with just that little exposure, people have gotten my information.

But that's just me...probably paranoid. However, I do purchase many things through the internet and use a credit card and I've never had any problems with that.

Where do you suppose he found his little hard hat?

l saw the trailer several times over the weekend here in SoCal. My husband thought I was crazy, as he does most days, when I said I know that rabbit and I know who made her. Yeah for you and Mimzy. bear_thumb  bear_thumb  bear_thumb

Oh, I'm so glad you decided to continue on with this little guy. I absolutely love him. He is the friendly mini abominable snowman. He's great. How are you feeling about him? I don't see how you could resist his charms.

Marlys

OMG I love Cookie. He's just too cute for words. I think he'd like to come live with me, at least that's what he's telling me with those little arms above his head. Just love him.  bear_wub

Marlys

Very cute and mint is the perfect color of Easter bunnies.

Marlys

Well, I think you should keep going. He looks kinda cute body and legs/feet so he'll look cute with a head and arms too. Maybe he could be the friendly  mini abominable snow man. bear_original

So happy your mohair was found...a beary angel must have been watching over it for you.   bear_innocent

Danny and his little frog friend really like to ham it up for the camera. I love the poses and Danny is adorable.

Marlys

Very cute. I never tire of seeing cute animal pictures...and if they are baby animals, so much the better.

Marlys

Thanks for the information. I had no idea a card key held so much personal information...I thought it just had the room number...and we've always turned them in...won't any more.

Marlys

It's a very cute picture. But the question is how did Lucky get there and he looks sound asleep, so how long has he been there? He does look very comfy and relaxed.

Marlys

Yikes indeed! Better watch your hands when handing out treats. But both Freddy and Osca are very cute babies.

Marlys

That's just too cute and really has so much of the aaahhhh factor going for it. I love it.

Marlys

They do look like a vicious bunch.
You got me!

Marlys

Thank you, Sarah Jane. I though about using a needle, but my cord wouldn't go through the eye. I'll keep trying and reading and one of these days a light is bound to go on for me.

Marlys

I've hesitated to ask this question again since it has been covered so extensively in the Tips section, but I can't help it. I've read, re-read, and read again all the posts relating to the eye cording technique that Shelli uses. I was working on a new bear that just was not turning out the way I wanted so I thought now's the time to sacrifice this poor baby to learning this technique.

I held my breath and poked holes by the eyes, but I had trouble getting the cording to go in...so I poked a little more and after a few attemps I did get one side in, but the other eye shows a large hole made by the awl.

I understand that this technique will take some practice, and I love the way Shelli's bears look, but I'm wondering if maybe using a different stuffing would help in getting the eye cord in without having to make a hole that then splits the fabric? I use a polyfill by Mountain Mist. Any ideas? Or do I have to sacrifice more bears?

Also, I love the big eyes used by Shelli and Judi and others. Are these round and how do you get them to stay in without a loop for thread to pull through? Is it strickly gluing?

I notice also that EBearZ University has a couple of classes that mention eye techniques and tricks. Would you have a suggestion as to which might be the best for this technique.

Thanks...Marlys

Marlys

Me, too; good thoughts, prayers and vibes coming your way.

Marlys

Amazing. I don't know how you do it.
