I agree with everyone else, do up a different pattern to sell I wouldn't sell the pattern you are currently using.

As for the big bear, tough nuts to the person who ordered it. I think you have done more than enough and given them enough time to come up with the money. I would put it on ebay or on your website, I would mention that it's a rare item as you rarely do bears and it's even more rare due to the size.

Best of luck

I"ve worked with it before and it works up nicely, you can make a 12" bear with it, but if you want to make a larger one it will work out nicely.  I remember taking a coat into our furrier here and she said it was Alaskan Seal, but from what she explained it wasn't really seal it was something that is sheared not truly seal.  I just can't remember what it was, once I find out I will post and let you know. It's a beautiful though very soft.

best of luck

HMMMMMmmm just so everyone knows our friend Karen omitted telling us that she actually won THREE Toby's as she also took Best in Show.  So not two awards but three awards.

Just thought I would mention.

OH CYNDEE, you had me scared to pieces. I am so glad that you are back, I'm very sorry that you have been ill. It's nice to know you are on the mend and slowly getting better. You are truly missed on here and we all have been thinking of you. Take your time and get better, we will all wait for you to heal and get back to your normal self.  Sometimes we get so busy in life looking after other people that we tend to forget to look after ourselves.

Big bear hugs sweetheart and glad you were able to post and let us know you are doing better.

DRAMA, did someone Say DRAMA  bear_grin  bear_grin . We sometimes get a little high spirited and a good hearty discussion but it's usually having to do with the passion of the art form.  Each to their own, I think we have one of the best groups on the web, I find majority of the people to be friendly and helpful and they do care about one another no matter what was or has been said in discussions. Isn't a forum about open communication and being able to ask whatever question you want, whether it's about operating your business, finding out how sales are going, or learning how to make wings or how to embroider a nose. I don't ever recall someone not getting an answer to their question.

Actually I think the price is very good, I know the dual air brushes are tricky to get use to but this kit also comes with a single system airbrush so you are getting a lot for that price. The air brushes alone can run thirty dollars a piece on ebay so your almost getting the compressor for free. I guess it depends on how much they are going to charge to ship to Canada, remember you will pay duty and taxes on it as well.

I like to mix and match fabrics,  I have one bear that is mohair but it has an inset belly made from pink snake skin and the mohair is a very soft pink. I think mixing them is very interesting as well as you get the best of both worlds for those people who like a cuddly fuzzy bear, I like different textures so just try what you like and see how it goes.

I would use the glue, as well Pat, it's not as though you are using a lot of glue. Just a little dab of white glue to help hold it in place, then use a couple of pins to hold the thread in place until it has set.  I also agree that the leather cording would make it very difficult to pull through the fibre fill. I would try the cording as Joanne suggest.

I have never heard of any horror stories in using glue, I am sure if you were using large amounts of it you might run into problems with the fabric breaking down but not for a little dab and that's all you need to do the technique you are talking about.

best of luck

ADORABLE. That one at the end in the chair, I'd like to see more of that one  bear_grin . The baby's are so adorable, thankfully someone is looking after them, great job.

Thanks for the link

Ha Kath heehee, Love you too but wait until you see Karen with some wine in her haha or went until the fly falls into your glass of wine. Karen is a miracle worker with drunk flies haha.

Karen are you doing TBAI again this yr??  If you do then you can come out and party it up with us on Sat night after the show and the cook out, pretty hard to keep Katherine under control though. I thought you were tough to keep in line, she takes the cake let me tell you  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin .

Ellen when it comes to NFLD, there are so many little B&B's to stay at and trust me they all will be good and you will be treated like a king and queen. They are the nicest people and so friendly and some of the best home cooked meals you will ever taste. I managed to find a few websites that might help you out.

http://www.bbcanada.com/newfoundland

http://www.innseekers.com/Newfoundland.cfm

http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/newfoundland.html

You might find some of the B&B's duplicated on these sites, but it would be a good place to start.

Sounds like a great trip. I grew up in New Brunswick and have been to Nova Scotia and PEI but never to Newfoundland, although I know a lot of Newfies  bear_grin  they are some of the best people you will ever meet.

I have to agree with you Laura, I am surprised they did not use one of her beautiful bears for the cover. I am getting tired of seeing so many manufactured bears on the cover of the magazines and on the inside of the magazines as well. I mean I don't mind an article here and there about them, but it seems that there are less and less about artist in the magazines and more about the manufactured bears and stuff like that.  None the less a great article and I can't wait to read it.

Congratulations Mireille what an honour, I can't wait to receive my magazine and see the article in person.  How exciting for you. All yours bears are fantastic.

Ahhhhh mystery solved  bear_grin , great picture of your beautiful daughter. She was very lucky to be able to take that trip, it's a place on my "to do list" so hopefully one day I will get there.

big hugs (I love the biggest loser) the US finale is coming up in a couple of weeks, I can't believe the one guy is only 7lbs away from losing 200lbs apparently it will be the first time anyone has lost 200lbs while in the house.

big hugs

Shane
