Shel,
Well I feel your pain...I was just telling my husband that it is so hard to get into my workroom before 1:00 p.m. It seems as though there is always something pulling me away. Appointment, grocery shopping, washing etc. etc. and I do agree with you, sometimes I just want to go out during the day and see people and talk to someone besides the dog. Have coffe and even shop at times. But then the day is gone and I am up working until midnight. I don't know why but I seem to get the most done at night....
I too have had an outside business (gift store) and still did bears. That was a lot of work.....
I think my best work space was the studio my husband built me off of the garage at our last home. We were in town so I could walk to the drug store, coffe shop etc. I really miss that.
Now since we moved to Idaho I just have a room upstairs...and a seperate office which is nice.
I understand what you are saying but the overhead is a killer.....when having a space outside your home.
Although just telling others that you have a office or workspace you go to would be nice. Just the other day I was out and was telling this store owner what I did. And I know most of you have heard this before. (OH WHAT A FUN HOBBY) I sooooo much wanted to hit her.
Anyway I don't know if this helped or not. Just my take on this very hard business that most of us love so much.

Hi all,
I don't know if this makes sense to anyone, but I know that some of you have had their auctions fraudulently put on Ebay by others that are trying to do harm to others.
This happened to me today someone out of Asia. Only because of another artist that caught it, that I knew about it and turned it in to Ebay.
Can anyone tell me the best way to keep this from happening over and over again?
I noticed that some of you are putting your company name on all photos in a auction. What is the best way to do this.
Thanks so much.

I have in the past found antique shoe buttons on ebay. My greatest find has been in antique shops. I have found packets of them (approx. 10 per pack) for $1.00 a packet. I also have heard that you can use sandpaper to "antique" black eyes. I haven't tried this yet.
Great find Millie, that's the way to buy. Thanks so much....

Pamela Wooley sells them from her website. Click on www.pamelawooley.com and scroll down toward the bottom, then click on antique shoebuttons. She has 8, 9, and 10mm sizes.
Thanks SueAnn, I had bought from Pamela years ago but did not have her web site.
I appreciate the information.

Hello everyone,
I seem to be having trouble finding old shoe button eyes. If anyone can help please let me know.
Thanks so much.

Hi guys,
Well this really made me smile a lot. Actually my mom was a lot like that. This is probably why my sister and I are a little more independent. Whatever happened to a 50/50 relationship and respecting one another.
As for some of you ladies my husband would love it to. hee hee.
Bonnie
I totally agree ladies. I too have cut way back on shows. For the last few years it seems shows have been way down. I remember when I started nineteen years ago when people would buy five and six bears at a time. Things just aren't the same. (I guess this is aging me) :/
I have only done one show this year so far in Nevada City Ca. I use to travel all over the US. Things have gotten so expensive, and when you don't do well it is very depressing.
Now I do mostly Ebay, my website and a few shops when I can. Through the years this business seems to take a tole on the old neck and back if you know what I mean.
I still can't seem to totally give it up though. As many of you have said, when you are working on that face and it starts talking to you if makes it all worth it. :)
Thanks everyone for the kind words on my bears. I appreciate it.....

Hello everone,
This was a subject that I have been pondering myself. And thanks to Shelli always ready to share what she
herself has found out by trial and error is so kind to tell others.
I have been in this business for many years and not all artists are so ready to share there tricks etc. It never
botheres me because everyone has there own style, and aren't we all here to help one another.
This has really been great for me to read what others are doing and to find out everyone has alot of the same
questions.
Thanks to all !!!
And Shelli great eye photos. We are lucky to have you in the bear world.
