Hi everyone,
I'm back. I know that's not really a big deal or anything, but I wanted to let everyone know that I am still around and I haven't given up on making bears.
I don't know what happened. One day I woke up and just didn't want to get on the computer. I wanted to spend time with my kids... you know, be a mom. Not that I couldn't before, but I felt like I had really gotten tied up in being on the computer a lot and everything ELSE that was going on. I starting training a new person to bake bread at the bakery that I bake at, started taking cake decorating lessons to become a cake decorator, which is now my 'title' at the bakery. I don't work for the bakery anymore, instead I work at that bakery and make and design my cakes from there and pay a portion of the lease, etc. and work for myself. So cakes, bread, bears, kids, school and the computer just kind of got to be too much. I put away the bears for almost 2 months, spent time with my kids and focused on learning the cakes.
But the bears were calling to me; you all have no idea how my mind wandered to bears those two months!!!! I have just finished my new little one, and I hope no one's forgotten me around here. Well, I'll quit yakking everyone's ears off... I just thought I'd say I missed you all and I'm back.

Welcome back, Kimberly! It sound perfectly normal to get involved with life outside of bears and the computer. I would love to taste your cakes and bread! Wanna come for a visit?
Glad you're back.
Bear hugs,
Debora
 WELCOME BACK KIMBERLY!!!!
I was actually going to post to see if anyone had heard from you.....Everyone needs a little break now and then, and I am sure you came back to the bears with your mind full of ideas!!! Cant wait to see them...
Hugs,
krista
Hey, it's your right as a human being to be multi-faceted and complex. How boring we all would be if all we could talk about was teddy bears. Much as we love making and collecting them, there's more to life than teddies (blasphemy!) That's why this forum is such a great place to be, in my humble opinion, anyway. We all bring such a variety of interests, personal histories, and opinions to the table.
I'm glad you had some time to sink into expanding and refining your identity. I'm doing that too (see "alter ego" under my signature for more; I don't want to bogart this thread with me, me, me.)
Welcome back, hun!
Welcome back. Just remember, you can spend time on the computer anytime, but those kids will be grown up before you know it. You will never regret the time you've spent making memories for them.
Thanks ladies, for your 'welcome back'. Although I probably won't be on here quite as much as I used to be, I am glad to be back and see what everyone's doing! I do have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head, and a lot of ventures I want to retouch.
Shelli, I saw your 'alter-ego'. Very cool! I've always been intrigued by lampwork... maybe one of these days I'll have time to dip my feet into that too. I admire you for being so multi-talented and good at it, to boot!
Debora, my mom lives in Colorado, so ya never know!!

Hi, Kim! Welcome back!
While you were "gone" I joined TT. I read some of your older posts and though, "hey, I know her!"
Welcome back, dear Kimberly !
It's so nice to have you back! You have indeed been missed but KUDOS to you for setting some priorities and sticking to them! I admire you and am jealous!!! Dang computers!!! They are time sucking machines! A break from things is always good and can be just the repreive you need to come back and tackle things with even more passion than before!
Congrats on the cake decorating!! Sounds like so much fun and you are obviously happy and that's so important!
Hugs hugs,

Hi Kim!!!!!! Good to see that you are back! I do that from time to time too... just drop everything, spend some time just doing the non-stressful fun stuff, and THEN figure out where I am going next! Good for you!
Kim Basta
Thanks so much ladies. It's good to know that disappearing for a couple of months doesn't mean I don't exist anymore! ha ha
Tami, I SAW that! How awesome that you joined! BTW, like you don't already know, I think your bears are ADORABLE!!!!!! And every time I see one, I think, "I've HELD those bears... I know exactly what they feel like." One of these days I'm going to have one of your bears... one way or another! ;)
It looks like everyone has just been busy as all heck over here! I have seen SO many gorgeous bears and completely astounding designs/themes/holiday decor! And here I am with my Polar Bear cub LOL OK, so maybe jumping back in, I got a little askew! lol

My only problem is, Jodi, that I have to go to bed not too long after my girls do because of my work hours. I spend the afternoons while I'm at home doing the things I don't do at work, like work. ha ha

Welcome back Kimberly! I've missed you and your wee bears!
Yep, that's my problem: time! We're pulling for you, Kim. I'm off to check out your polar bear.
If you come on out to Colorado to visit your mom, let me know!
Oooh how exciting for you Kimberly!!!!!!!!!!! I used to do a bit of cake decorating, so would love to see :photo: !!!
I also wanted to get into Lampwork beads, but all the health issues that go along with lampworking, and the need to have great ventilation frightens me!!! I'm not going to kill myself for a craft - no matter how beautiful it is!
Looks like you're doing beautiful work Shelli!

Welcome back! I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering if you had been making any new bears. I just love your little bears. They are adorable!
Congrats on your new cake decorating skills! That must be great, to make a living from making cakes, bread and bears! I am so jealous!
You should post some pictures of your cakes for us to see!
Aerianna

Kimberly,
It will get better as your kids get older. Is sounds like they are young. Your main job now is to enjoy every minute. It really does go fast . So enjoy every second !!
Jodi Falk
Thanks Jodi, I definitely am trying to! lol They are little. I don't know if you remember them from the show, but they were there. 5 and 2 are their ages. 2 little girls!

It's a good thing that cake isn't one of my cravings. I can take it or leave it....otherwise I'd be in big trouble. They are gorgeous...nice job Kim.
And, welcome back. I've wondered what you were up to and where you had gone off to. So glad to hear was to spend time with those darlings little girls of yours.
Hugs,
Shantell
