Im doing a teddy bear at the moment and it is talking about set screws. I have never heard of this term before. I have used normal screws (the ones with the heads on them) with washers and lock nuts. I think maybe I need to buy a grub screw set, am I correct? I think this is an issue of different names depending on what country you live in. Please help.....

I am told by my resident screw expert that "Set screws" are smaller, don't usually have a "head" and usually do have a point.  I am unsure why this would be critical though, and why the regular screws with good old lock nuts wouldn't do you just fine.

hopefully someone will have a better answer for you.

Teeeej yes set screw are the same as grub screws. They are wonderful to use on the necks making it all so much easier...just be sure to tighten the bolt on to the end without the hole in before putting it into the bear..

Ohh thanks for the hints. I do have to use them in the neck of the teddy bear, then I don't have to leave the head open at the top. Yes! Another trip to the teddy bear supply store is in order! Thankgod its close by, but it is always fun to go.
