Did I mention I moved house a couple of month or so ago? I'm sure I must have! This Easter my lovely 'other half' Stuart spent the entire break tucked away in our spare room, decorating it so that I could set it up as my sewing room!
I'm so pleased with my lovely new bear-making space, I couldn't resist sharing it with you ... here are some before and after shots! I chose a gentle daffodil yellow for the walls and chalk pink check curtains and cushions from Laura Ashley. I absolutely love my new cotton reel sorter (no more tangles!) and I now have enough shelf and cupboard space to organise myself property. After several years of working in my living room, it is such a treat to be able to tuck myself away in a room, filled with all my bear-making bits 'n pieces ... I'm so touched that he did this for me.
If anyone else would like to share workroom pics, please feel free to add them here!
Oh my Paula! What a lovely and neat place!
When did you say is Stuart coming over toe Vienna?
Well done!
Gaby

Paula What a wonderful room! Your Stuart sounds like a "prince among men"! Enjoy your new room. Sincerely Jane D.
Paula your new room looks great, I am sure will will see some more of your wonderful bears emerging from there very soon. I must say I do love your wooden trunk with the teddys on it, I would love one like that.
Hugs Jane.
It's nice to hear you all like my room! Jane, the box was made for me by a friend quite a few years ago. She uses pyrography to etch the pictures of the bears onto the wood ... the bears are taken from a photograph of my collection of Chiltern teddy bears, so this is the perfect box to keep my mohair, in as the design on it is one-of-a-kind and so personal to me!
Ellen, no need to worry about me, I've just been very busy lately I'm afraid. I'm still in the process of selling my old house too and what a nightmare that is proving to be! I'm sorry to hear you've had to shift your rooms around with no help from Mr. Ellen (!) maybe you should tell him what Stuart has done for me and see if you can shame him into helping you!
Great room and colours...your furniture now has a such a warm and softer look to it if that is possible with wood... but it does ...it looks like you could rub a hand over it and feel warmth and a sort of soft smoothness or something......maybe I poured a bit more Tia Maria in my coffee this morning ..... lol ....
Ellen.... maybe you should lose yourself in your new space for a long, long while too; order in mini pizza just for yourself and let Mr. GAmEsman learn to cook, clean, do his own laundry and all other tasks that you may still do for him... if he has figured out how to get away with not moving furniture or painting or helping with other household tasks My sister's husband only had to ask where supper was two days in a row before he got the message about how his new situation was going to be. Last week he even vacuumed, made the bed and helped take horse blankets to the laundromat......
Wow. What a nice space....
Hey Paula, that is the same color as my studio!!! Great minds think alike! LOL
I love it cause you still get some great light!
Green with envy, I work from the back room of our shop in the day time, Its a beautiful old building. My work room however is small (8' x 6') and not very well lit with one small window high on the wall (with bars) for security.
I have lots of shelf space and fixed work tops on two sides, so there is just about enough room for me.
Regards
Darren
Love, love, love the new color!!! So that's where you've been!! I keep peeking in on your blog but you've been nowhere to be found!!
Oh, and about uploading the pictures to your blog. I've found that if you upload all the pictures....then post, it comes out nice and neat. If you try to move the pictures around after that.....well it all goes to piddle.
Warmest and biggest bear hugs,

Ooh, Paula and Tami, I am soooo jealous!! I live in a pokey little 2 bedroomed flat and my supplies are kept in the cupboard part of my display unit in the Lounge and also in (and on!) a unit in the bedroom. My bear making areas are the sofa and the breakfast bar in the kitchen (where my sewing machine is!). Oh what I'd do for a bear making room!
They both look FANTASTIC! I would never want to leave there!
Paula, it's lovely, and isn't it amazing what a change in paint color and drapes can do for a space? Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful studio!
Paula, what a sweetie your Stuart is ! ! ! Your room is lovely. I could spend hours and hours in there. He might miss you, you'll have to remember to come out every now and then.
Tami, you're soooo organized. I love the color of your room too.
I have a small bedroom for my sewing room now, but we have a 400 sq ft room to be finished for my studio/exercise room/computer station room. I can't wait. Should happen this summer.
Bravo, Paula and Stuart!!! A fantastic studio! Could you please give me a visit and clean, organize, and remodel mine???
Lovely rooms, Paula and Tami...and so darn neat!
Paula, painting a couple of swatches of color on your wall is a wonderful idea. I wanted my sewing room a pale lavender and even took a flower to Lowes for them to match and, of course, the paint itself looked perfect, but once on the walls, it was really, really purple...and not nearly so neatly arranged as the two of you have your rooms. And it's so filled with my quilting supplies that I have to keep my bear supplies downstairs in two different closets and three cabinets.
I'm really hoping to clean out, sort out, down size my quilt supplies and repaint this summer so I can get everything into one room. Your pictures are an inspiration.
Hmmmmm this could be Entrepreneurial Idea number 999..... Traveling Bear Supply Arranger and Renovationist... if there is such a word. Maybe bit of holidaying into the bargain....sometimes just a helping eye and hand would be all that is needed to spur each of us onwards in our quest for a small workplace and some order out of chaos..... ..hmmmmm.... get the old thinking cap on here..........l....
Chuckling here because although the room looked like that this morning, this afternoon it's blitzed! I've been working on a new bear ...
Tami, your studio looks enormous! So neat too, it's lovely. By the way, we share the same swivel chair!! My office is downstairs and as you can see, our chairs match!! Um ... excuse the coffee mug, the pic was taken without a tidy up!
The new pretty yellow shade on the walls and curtains certainly brighten things up ... the room is actually much brighter and sunnier than the pics show, must be something to do with shooting towards the light.
Aleta, thank you for the blog tip ... I will give that a try and maybe it will save my sanity if I'm lucky!
I have been waiting for these pics Paula. Ever since you said you were moving. What a wonderful creative space. I just adore the teddy chest. *covet covet covet*
Here's pics of my workroom 3X3 metres of it. I did it all myself.
OMG I am sooooo jealous of all these fabulous work spaces....I work out of a tiny little desk in the corner of the dining romm!!!
It all looks beautiful girls!!!
it looks great! I love the bear trunk!
Love the new work room Paula - my bear/work room is in the same colour, hmmm! Must be something about this colour which makes a room relaxing and cheerful to be in. I don't actually do any work in my room because as I work by hand sewing I can be any where in the house I like but it is usually in the lounge in the evening watching the TV
Hugs Lyn
Isn't it strange how the soft yellow colour seems such a popular choice? I love yellow and tried several splodges of it on the walls before I chose the 'hint of daffodil'. Some were to strong, some too citrus ... but for me, yellow is an energising colour and it makes me feel happy, so I stuck with finding a shade I could live with and this one is just right for me! It's fresh, clean, cheerful and unimposing ... perfect for getting me inspired and busy!
I'm looking forward to receiving my copy of TBR Ellen, it will be fun to see your ultra tidy workspace!
Wendy, your room is lovely, it looks like a real hive of creative activity!
I'm very envious of all of your workrooms. Paula - do you rent Stuart out as a specialist workroom doerupper?
I don't have a specialist room at all - everything has to be got out and put away each time - very frustrating. If you just have half an hour - by the time you've set up and allowed time to pack up - the time left isn't enough to do anything. That's probably why I'm the slowest bearmaker in the world.
Sorry I've been AWOL - Life gets in the way.
