I am leaving on the 10th of May for vacation.  I will be in Texas (Houston, San Antonio, Del Rio, El Paso), New Mexico (mostly in the northwest), Arizona (northeast) and Colorado.  I was just curious if anyone would suggest any teddy bear related shops, supply stores etc. that I should visit.

Hi Millie.  Unfortunately, there are not any bear shops in all of Houston, Austin or San Antonio.  There is one shop in Old Town Spring - just north of Houston that carries Boyd's, Gund, etc.  It's called Michelle's.  They do have a nice selection of bears, but none are artist bears.  Old Town Spring is a fun place to visit.  It's a group of old houses that have been turned into shops.  It used to be small and quaint, but now there are hundreds of them.  You might stumble into beads, etc.

If you find yourself in Austin, we have LOTS of fun places to find bear-related stuff - lots of great thrift shops, a yarn shop that carries wool roving for felting, many bead shops, etc..

The last shop that I am aware of in San Antonio that carried bears closed 2 or 3 years ago.  There are a lot of artists here in Austin and San Antonio, however.

If you find yourself in Albuquerque, New Mexico, our yearly show is Sunday, May 18th.  This will be our tenth year there, and we have a great group of artists coming this year, including quite a few from TT.

Thank you so much for the info.  Actually, I will be close to  the Albuquerque area on the 18th.  I would love more info on the show.  If you could let me know the place, time etc I would love to drop in.

I wish I knew of teddy bear shops or shows here in Colorado, but I haven't heard of any! Where in Colorado will you be, and when? Maybe another Coloradan can chime in.
