For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
I have just listed one of my bears on ebay, I was just putting my name "Brierley Bears" in a search to make sure my listing came up and look what I found.
This bear is not one of mine, yet it says that it is an artist bear made by Kat Vardy of Brierley Bears.
This is just too strange for me.

I think I might send the seller an email and ask about this.
Surely there can't be two people with the same name and business name.
Hugs,
Kat
Hi Kat...is it your bear? Has someone just sneakily cloned your auction and identity...or are they selling one of your bears? Report it to eBay if you suspect the former!!
There are some sneaky people about!
No, it's not one of mine.
It's just really strange.
I could understand it if someone had the same name as me, or the same business name, but not both.
Hi,
This just does not sound right!
I just looked at the about me page on the auction bear in question. This is a person that is a collector of bears, dolls and other items. I would almost say someone had sold him the bear and said that you were the artist, when in fact you are not. Or even worse he may just might be trying to pass it off as yours.
I would contact the person with the bear just to see what he has to say. Then I would contact ebay and forward them his responce.
good luck!
Sheryl
Wow, that's really weird. I'd be so curious to see the hang tag and a pic of the tush tag, to see who (if anyone) had the same name and bear biz name. He/she claims it's old stock...I wonder from when and where.
Can't wait to hear what the seller has to say!

It certainly looks like some sort of scam or the seller has been scammed......contact both e-bay and the seller?
I'm wondering if it's a mistaken attribution, perhaps a hangtag off one of your bears was accidentally switched with this bear's. Anyway, it's seems more likely than the thought that there are two of you (hopefully).
Cheers,
Kelly
I think that is it probably a mistake on the part of the seller. If you kindly email her explain that you are Kat Vardy and that bear is not your design, she will probably change the auction.
Wondering how everything went, Kat, if you have had a response?

It's pretty plain that it's not one of your bears. This must have really wierded you out, I think I'd email the seller and tell them...
Hope you go on okay
Andrea
I emailed the seller and explained who I was and that it was not one of my bears.
I also explained that if you do a search on google for either "Kat Vardy" or "Brierley Bears", only my details show up.
He told me that the bear is in his shop and when he gets there this week, he will look into it for me.
I have only sold one bear without a hang tag, and that went to the USA, but Coffee didn't look anything like the one on ebay.
I haven't made one called Bridget so I don't think it could be a hang tag getting mixed up. My hang tags are all personalised. Each bear has their photo and name on the front and filling details on the inside.
Hopefully I'll have some more details in the next couple of days.
Hugs,
Kat
Hi Kat, what an aweful thing to happen, I hope it gets sorted out
I notice that although you "Kat Vardy of Brierley Bears" has pointed this error out, the bear is still for sale????
I wonder why??
That's so weird. You can look at the picture & it looks like "kat" is signed or sown onto the foot. It would be hard to believe that tow people would have the same name & same company name too. Do you have a trademark on your company name?
hi was just doing a bit of snooping and found this

dont know if it helps or not
What the??? Seems someone keeps very poor track of their "inventory"...I wish I had money to throw around, I'd "Buy It Now" on both auctions just to see what I get!
Hugs,
Janine
? same seller too but one's listed on the UK e-bay & one on the US seams really fishy to me I don't think I would trust that seller
