Thought I would share a taste of what living in Africa is like.

The result
I prefer the cats the size my neighbour has, small cute and far to dainty to eat my tyres.
Great pictures Lynette!
Hugs, Jane.
How very scary Lynette Great photos and.... those lions are not doing much sleeping!
They are such magnificent beasts and I have only ever seen them in the zoo.

That is cool. I have always wanted to visit Africa, and this makes me want to even more. Maybe I'm crazy, but I would love to live where there is real "wild"life. We have foxes, coyotes and tons of deer, but I want some of the big critters.
WOW...I wonder who finally got out to change the tire?

Oh my. Looks like the lions were looking for a boxed lunch? Yikes
Wow. Though very intimidating, the lions don't look more curious than threatening. I hope someone had a working cell phone and called AAA.
they are magnificent creatures and to see them in the wild is awesome. When my brother still lived here, he had a game farm where they reared a cub.
We are also going to spend some time at another game farm where the zebras, warthogs come right up to the veranda you are sitting on. You have to go before September and then miss out the next few months as it gets too hot ( no electricity) and the mosquitos attack. Something I am looking forward to.

They are just STUNNING, aren't they? But just the thought of having LIONS chewing your tyres - YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!
The only danger to cars here are Pine Martens, who apparently have a "thing" about chewing thru wires.........I was highly amused a while back to find that the ADAC (German equivalent to the RAC or AA) published, with typical love of fine details, a list of the Pine Martens' favourite cars - fortunately our "dog-mobile" wasn't on the list.
I envy you Lynette - would love to see some of these magnificent animals in the wild!

I always thought you had to be nuts wanting to live in africa. Now I KNOW that is true.
Thanks Lynette for the affirmation
WOW, I think I'd have soiled my britches 'round about the first photo.... lol They ARE wonderful though, and I have to admit I'd LOVE to visit!!!! It'd be a dream come true!
Some of your responses had me cracking up, literally!! LOL So funny and clever! ha ha!

Hi Lynette
Have you ever been out to the lion park near Honeydew? Was close to where I lived. The lions also came right up to the truck and tried to eat the tyres. Ok they also played with the guide who had hand reared them. Been out of Africa for a couple of months and really miss it. Got the chance to go back a month ago but went to Mali and Keny and did a game drive outside Niarobi. We are really lucky in SA to have such stunning scenery and animals. Hadnt realised how much I took it for granted.
Oh gezzzzzzzzzzzz! Cute pictures though!!!
That's a good story for the insurance company - a lion ate it!!!!!!
My photo isn't nearly as dramatic, but your lion pics reminded me of when we took our small daughters (long, long ago) to a safari park in our area. The hippo seemed to be attracted to the outside rear-view mirror on our car. Maybe saw his reflection???
Great shots, Lynette!
Oh my goodness Sue Ann - what a scary predicament to be in!
One, I bet your family have never forgotten.
Hugs

We do not live far from the Lion Park, actually two in fact.
Ahhh Sue Ann, I think the rhino was thinking- Look how beautiful I am
