Hello fellow American Teddy Bear people......just want to wish you all a Bear-y Happy and healthy Thanksgiving......
Don't eat too much, save some for the bears!
No snow here yet to speak of but the forcast is for a lot of it south of me. Hopefully we will get some, but not so much that it forces us to stay home.
 Ellen
Ditto!
I'm trying out Matilda's chocolate caramel fudge cake recipe on the family tomorrow!
From Me To You Across the pond with love and hugs

Happy thanksgiving to all .........
Can ayone explain Thanksgiving to me. I was thinking its like our Harvest festival, on a way bigger scale, but not quite? Is it like an early Christmas as you all seem to have it as a national holiday? I know turkeys are involved, we stole that for Christmas day instead of a traditional goose.

I can't do two turkeys in a row, so I usually do a turkey for Thanksgiving and a ham or pork for Christmas. That just doesn't sound good, does it?
Happy thanksgiving to all our American friends - hope that you have a fabulous day and
have lots of yummy food. We will be thinking of you all!!
Pig out day tomorrow . . . I always love any excuse to eat lots! Thanks to everyone for the good Thanksgiving wishes and the same to all of you who celebrate the day!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Have a yummy time ...hubby and I will be going non traditional this year, ditching the turkey for lobstertails....my FAV!!!! YUM!!! But I can't wait to get to the pumpkin pie....ooooh, just have to wait til tomorrow...
It drives the hubs crazy when I am reading and burst out laughing. He even asked if I laugh out loud when its just the cats the dog the parrot and me.
Well that's hardly alone.
Judi- that was hysterical..absolutely....thank you
I am absolutly the only one in the family-even extended family, that likes pumpkin pie
So i make it for myself. But I don't bother with the crust, ( cuz I can't eat it anyway) and my recipie is ever so easy.
( I make my own vanilla- and I keep making more every year cuz the longer it sits the better it is, so....)
use all the real vanilla you can afford, fresh nutmeg, and brown sugar......I call it pumpkin pudding. and it makes a great breakfast! Oh an pecan halves on the top...
Thank you everyone for the good wishes- and right back at ya! And to all our friends on the eastern seaboard.....you guys be careful out there....the weather predictions sound terrible! Yikes!!
Amanda, it probably is like your harvest festivasl.....but you know how American Capitalists are---bigger has to be better....so it now is the kickoff to the Holiday Season which is financially, calorically, alcoholically draining.
But I think a lot of Americans work at keeping it about Thanks, to be with family, and recognize the things we have to be grateful for.
I went to the day after (Friday) sales once in my life. About 35 years ago. I decided there was nothing in the wrold I wanted to buy that badly to do that again. But any of you gals going on Friday, I'll be thinking of you....be careful

Happy thanksgiving!!!!
Happy thanksgiving to all Bear friends in USA !!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all from Oz....
and while we're on that subject, I just received an email from a penpal in Pennsylvania, her husband has been down at the supermarket where they are selling turkeys for 28c lb....is that cheap...or is that cheap??????
hugs,
Denise...
Deb - You crack me up!
You must be in for a bit of snow tomorrow, eh? We're supposed to get 4-7" up here.
Debbie - We have 2 vegetarians at our Thanksgiving table every year so along with the turkey we always have fish... this year it's Lobster for us too! Yummm!!!
The Day After Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping day of the year here in the USA... Black Friday it's called in the retail world, though I never understood why. Is it because the stores open when it's still dark out, like 5 am?..... anyway, having worked those long hours with all those crazy shoppers for 15+ years I will be happily staying home, eating left overs and digging out the Christmas Decorations this year. Ahhhh.......... :)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs, Daphne
All of our American Friends may your Thanksgiving day be filled with Good Food, Laughter, Lots Of Cheer And Many Many Blessings!!

Thanks Deb for the link. Very interesting. I had to laugh at the desicion when to have it , so the Christmas shopping was started early. Lets face it its lovely that everyone gets together and thinks of each other. So don't eat too much everyone and enjoy yourselves!
Happy Thankgiving, everyone!
Dilu- your pumpkin pudding sounds yummy!
I must admit I am one of the crazy Friday shoppers, although I won't be going this year. Dilu, you're right, there isn't anything on such good sale to justify leaving my house at 5:30 am to shop. But for me it's more about having fun with the ladies in my family. Usually my mom, sister, my aunts and I all load up and go together. My mom unfortunately can't make it this year due to health issues so I've decided it's not worth it if she can't go.
Happy Thanksgiving all my teddy friends...even if it isn't "officially" turkey where you are...Happy Day anyway!!!
