So I have a Brother 50 Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine It's not the best machine in the world at only $130 from wal-mart but I've been super happy with it so fare.  My question is does anyone own a Pfaff machine?  My grandmother has an older one (not sure of the model) but it's computerized and from around the 90's give or take & she wants to trade machines.

So I know Pfaffs are high in cost but are they good for bear & stuffed animal making.  I really like that my brother has the anti-bunch bobbin feature but I know the Pfaff cab embroider (which isn't something I really do) So would it be a good trade?

So any help would be great thanks!

I sew with a 1953 elna and a 1950 featherweight.  I also occassionally use a 60's singer(not sure of the model)  I love them all.

Years ago I worked in a seamstress shop and the pfaffs were highly regarded for their reliability but when they broke down ,  were more expensive to repair (parts not as readily available). I don't remember if they were "sensitive" machines or not.

And that's about the extent of my sewing machine expertise. bear_original

I would suggest trying out the machine before even considering a trade.  Then, if your keen on the machine, make sure  service, needles etc. are easy to get.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
Yeah I noticed they where German made machines and accessories  where a lot in compression to my brother machine.  I've had no luck finding any good reviews on the web bear_sad

I personally would stick with what you know and if that's all it cost then you may be able to go through 2 or 3 machines (hope that you wouldn't) cheaper than the parts for a computerised model.

Well turns out she wants to trade me for my old basic starter singer bear_original she just wants a basic easy to use machine, because she doesn't sewn much anymore.  So I'll still have my brother!  But if anyone knows anything about Pfaffs that would be great!
