She's beautiful! I never progressed beyond love birds, parakeets and cockatiels but always wanted a Timneh. Such smart birds and wonderful pets. Enjoy your baby Grey!
What a sweetheart!
Hi Vicki, she's gorgeous... what a lovely baby!! I love African Greys they are so smart and make wonderful pets and she will have a great friend in Buddy.

Oh sweet!
Beautiful Grey!
I had one many years ago. Bullwinkle.
They are such great talkers. Bullwinkle use to call the cats, "Here kitty kitty" and when they would come running he would laugh! Cracked us up!!!!
What a sweetie!
It never occurred to me that baby parrots had to be fed mushy food - sweet!!!!!!!!!
I imagine you are going to have a lot of fun with your new baby

Maria you should see some of the videos on Youtube of baby parrots eating.
It's hysterical to watch!
And the funny sounds they make.
They get it all over themselves just like human babies do.
Maybe Vicki can take some pictures for us. Hint Hint
Thank you so much everyone
Lol She does get in a right mess just like a baby. I will try and take some pictures of her eating, its really funny as she makes so much noise and can't get the food down quick enough
Hugs

Love the new bird, my daughter has a grey named Buzzy, quite talkative, and she also has two green ones, Rocky and Clancy. Be forwarned, you have to really commit as these birds will maybe outlive you. It is a lot of work and a lot of mess.
My daughter has two cages, 6 feet in height, iron ones. They are great to have but do demand a lot of time and effort to keep them going. So Enjoy! She has had hers for at least 15 years now, all gotten as babies. Buzzy curses alot, and rocky loves to sing and says old mack donald nursery rhyme.
I have a cocka teil and thats enough for me, he is about 19 years old and I got him from someone else so I do not know his real age. He survives, says a few words, but makes a big bird mess!
Here are some picture of Ruby having her food, she did get in more of a mess
Hugs

This is at the start
This is near the end
Congratulations on your new baby! I too love parrots and we share our home with Four Indian Ringnecks and an Alexandrine, a few years ago our ringneck pair had chicks and wouldn't feed them so I had the wonderful job of beoming surrogate mum to two day old chicks and handreared them, It was a wonderful experience She's on eggs again at the moment so I'm hoping for some more babies this year, fingers crossed
Great pictures!!!
Thanks For posting them. :)
It's so hard to keep them clean while eating! and their food is like glue when it dries on them!
You did a great job!
Aside from the obvious, do you also hand feed them so that they imprint on humans as a source of food and protection?
Awwww, it's been lovely to see these pics, I do envy you and love your new baby, must be so much fun
Pauline

They are both beautiful birds!
Hi Vicki,
Your birds are beautiful and must be so much fun having them.
Our Son loves birds, so I will have to show him your photos.
He is always wanting one too, but we have only had small birds, budgies, canary and finches.
Hugs
Carolyn
Hi Vicki, Awww Ruby is gorgeous, I love the pictures especially where she is feeding. I was unaware that parrots had to be hand fed as babies, so cute. My son has a budgie called Sparky, but she is so shy, not like others he has had. Keep us posted with pictures, I'd love to see her as she grows.
Hugs, Jane.
