I know there are a few on here that make bears out of mink and other real furs, a friend of a friend wanted a teddy bear made from her mothers fur coat....can you point me in the right direction to pass along......thanks
Tammy Wamboldt (Beckoning Bears in Canada) makes gorgeous bears from recycled old fur garments.
Oh yes, my mind went blank, Tammy is wonderful!!!!

Also if you google " mink bears from fur coats " you'll find more. I expect she is looking for someone in the USA ?
I hope that is helpful. No matter who your friend decides to use tell her to make sure they line the bears pieces with a cotton/muslin for added strength !
Good luck, Tammy
I make bears from coats & real fur too but my bears are not as amazing as Tammy's.
try to stay in the US if possible, customs is a pain in the but for things like that. And you wouldn't want to have to pay duties on something that already belonged to you in the first place. US customs has been a nightmare lately, they've really clamped down on things. I don't know what Canadian customs has been like. I only see the stuff going out. But I ship stuff daily at work to the US and everything has been a pain unless it has been paper. Other countries not so bad, no unusal problems, but to keep costs lower you'd want to stay in north america probably.
But Tammy does make amazing bears. So does Melissa. Since Melissa deals with mostly fur bears she would probably be a good choice if you went out of the US, she probably knows just how to mark the package for customs to get it to go through.
