Can you believe that this baby bear now weighs 58 pounds (26 kilos)? She has certainly been a bright spot for many people this year.

Hi Becky,
Yes, she certainly brightens my day as I make a point of tuning in to the website each morning to see what the dynamic duo have been up to! Hope looks so much like her mum doesn't she and I find it so hard to believe how "old" she is now, this year has just whizzed by. I'm so pleased that Hope and Lily are very much together these days, it all just makes your heart sing!
Hugs

She does look like a little replica of Lily.
I'm looking forward to another winter in a bear's den (via webcam, that is).

What an adventure this has been! Never in my life would I have thought that I would be addicted to black bears in my advanced age (or ever, for that matter) . . . especially two particular ones from Ely, MN. Such a stroke of genius to place that web cam in Lily's den so the world could watch a cub being born. I'd be willing to bet that Doc Rogers and Sue could've never predicted the outcome of that decision. Lily's FB friends can just about move mountains when they set their minds to it . . . such fervor, dedication, and loyalty they exhibit when they have a goal to accomplish. Just today I got my copies of Cindy Terry's book about Lily/Hope and she's done a fantastic job with the story and illustrations. I, too, am looking forward to the upcoming hibernation season.
