Today I'm a bit sad - well I'm very sad!!!! My son left for Finland yesterday in the evening. He will stay there and Joesnsuu for about 5 month for study. I'm happy for him because I'm sure he will have a wonderful time - so many experiences and he will learn to live for his own - he is now 20 years old.
But for me - Mommy's darling!!!! left home!!!! All the moms out there can imagine what I'm feeling now, but we have to let them go to learn their own life and I'm so curious if he will enjoy it.
I will report sometime about his stay there. Does anybody know the university at Joensuu???? Anybody near there outside????? Oh I would love to hear your opinion.
with tears in my eyes I will send out so many beary hugs to all the moms in the world !!!
Aww, I'm sure he'll have a great time! I left home at 16 to be an exchange student in Canada for a year, it was so much fun exploring other cultures, I just hope he makes it to classes occasionally
 for you though, I'm sure it'll fly by
     Yes, it's hard to let them go, but you're absolutely correct in saying that he needs to experience the reality of life on his own. The time will pass quickly.
Andrea I know how you feel....a part of your heart goes with them when they leave ...he will have a wonderful time and just think how excited you will be when he returns!
Hugs to cheer you up
I like the saying 'A mother holds our hands for a while but holds our hearts forever" it is so true for many .
