There is a petition that needs signing. The Minnesota DNR (Department of Natural Resources) has denied Dr. Lynn Rodgers request that the radio collared bears with the brightly colored ribbons be spared this hunting season. This is the group of bears he has been studying for many years, they include the bears many of us know and love, Lily and Hope. This is not an anti-hunting petition. This is directed only at this special group of animals. I hope everyone will consider signing.

Thanks so much,
Joanne
ps; There is also a letter writing campaign going on at this moment. There is a list of legislators that need to hear what these bears mean to people all over the world. Here is the link to the addresses.
Thank you, Joanne, for putting up these two links. The MN DNR is being particularly stubborn about allowing protection for Doc's research bears, and I can't imagine why. Fewer than 15 bears out of the many thousands in MN. This research is very important and needs LIVE bears to study . . . not dead ones.
and please, don't forget to pass those links on to everybody you know!
Yep - no thanks to the DNR! We have to do whatever we can to ensure the research bear's safety - doesn't seem too much to ask, does it?
every time I think of poor Sarah, and Cal-
Thank you Joanne for drawing our attention to this.
I have put this on my FB page as well; I hope many of you will do the same.
Hugs,

Thanks all, this is somewhere we can make a difference. Please post these links anywhere someone will help.
