Hello, I'm Mel from South Wales, UK  bear_flower

Last September I introduced myself as I had decided bears would be a great way to squeeze a bit of income out of my time as a stay at home mum.  I had lots of ideas (still do,  bear_grin ) but it seemed as soon as my fabric arrived my son decided to start crawling and walking and was in to everything, especially my sewing box!

Sooo 5 months later, I am here with my first bear.  I did look at patterns to see what general shapes would be needed but I have drawn the pattern from my own design and have learnt first hand that 2 dimensional drawings don't nessessarily translate into 3-D.  I had to make a few alterations as I went as he wasn't looking quite right,  he still looks a bit different but I hope it adds to his charm.

It was agonising trying to work out his price as I obviously couldn't charge an hourly rate for my time, I didn't want to price him too low as I really did put my heart and soul into him and part of me doesn't want to let him go as I'm really rather fond of him.

I would love to have some honest criticism if anyone has the time. I realise the photo's aren't that good I really struggle getting good pictures, my camera even kept telling me that he was blinking!

For my next project I will be needlefelting, learning as I go of course. I'm hoping it will be a bit easier to fit in around my baby, otherwise I will be back again in 5 months  bear_grin
