This is Milo...he's made in wonderful Helmbold vanilla alpaca.
He's the biggest bear I have made for a while...he is 23 inches. He found a home very quickly...but I thought I would show him off anyway..1373748806_image.jpg

Wow, a 23" bear!  bear_smile    It has been some time since you made one this big?
I love him and I bet he is a wonderful hugger too.   bear_wub

bear_laugh Peter thank you so much.  I love to do big bears but each one takes a week and it doesn't do my achy joints much good. Nevertheless they are always worth the effort!!

Are you surprised he found a home quickly Jenny ? I am not ! He's absolutely adorable  like so many of your creations :)

Well I am always pleased if they find a home fast.....
I was delighted when he was snapped up. It makes the effort worthwhile.

Can I just ask, how much fur does a bear that big take? Just to give me an idea for future reference! Thanks

Just over 1/3 of a meter. I buy a meter usually so I have enough for a few out if it. But I bought a half and need to buy more.

Thanks. wow, that's less than I expected. I spose I'm still getting used to the fact that the very method of cutting each individual piece tightly placed makes bear making so much more efficient than clothes making from commercial patterns, where I always end up with tons of fabric left over.

I learned when I went on my original bear making course at BearBits in Lincoln that economical placing of patterns pieces on the fabric makes perfect sense.
