Hi Everyone!  I have a cheap ol teddy bear that I would love to try the needlefelting on...do any of you artists have a how to to purchase or ?  without taking a class right now?  That I can find out if I really want to make a bear...Or has anyone done needlefelting sculpting on a purchased bear that could tell me how to start?

I would be willing to purchase a how to do this if anyone has something I can try before deciding if I really want to get into this bear making big time.

Thank you and I hope I am ok posting this

Shelly, the best advice I can give you is to just go for it!

Take a stitch where you want an indent to be, usually by the eyes mouth etc. If you don't like it, you can always pull the stitch out. Good idea to take a purchased bear, but I bet you'll be hooked!

Also, do a google search, I'm sure you'll find lots of info there.

Sorry this is so short, busy at work today!

Needle sculpting or Needle felting???? I know there are a bunch of sculpting articles on the internet, and here as well. But Needle felting I have no idea about...

Shelly, Like Heather said, you just need to jump in a give it a go.  Also go the the posts in the Needle Felting forum.  There is alot of info there you you to read with tones of tips.

I do teach a class for needle felting a face onto a mohair bear.  The class starts with basic needle felting and I walk you through a step by step for building a face.

For more info go to www.northcountryteddybears.com

or go to the felting forum here and dive in !
