I wanted everyone to read the note that I just recieved from Ebay...so y'all can learn from my mistake and not have your auction cancelled.

Clearly it was my mistake, I didn't understand the technicality, BUT I do now!!!! :doh: 

Thanks girls for your support, as usual...and I will paste ebays note so as to help anyone confused like I was.

I think he explains the policy very nicely and easy for all to understand.

Hello Nancy,

Thank you for taking the time to write eBay with your concerns. I'm
happy to help you further.

To begin, please accept my apologies for the upset that our
administrative action has caused. I have thoroughly reviewed the
information you have provided as well as the information in your
account. I have come to the conclusion that the appropriate action was
taken in this case in accordance to our listing policy. Please allow me
to further explain why this action was taken.

You may provide unlimited links to your About Me page from your
auctions. Unfortunately Nancy, you may not advertise the fact that users
may be able to link to your individual website from your About Me page.
For example, it would not be permitted to state:

"click on my "ME" page and follow the link to my website."

A more appropriate statement would be:

"please visit my About Me page!"

On your About Me page, you may link to your own Web site or individual
internet store where you are offering to trade, sell or purchase your
goods or services. It may not specifically promote off eBay sales or
sales of items prohibited on eBay, nor may it contain links to
commercial Web sites where goods from multiple sellers are aggregated by
a common search engine.

For example by simply stating the following on your About Me Page:

"Please visit my website www.mywebsite.com" - will be fine.

However promoting items that can be bought from your website/online
store is not allowed, for example:

"Please visit my website "www.mywebsite.com" for more great designer
clothing at a cheaper price!!!" - is not allowed.

I realize that it was not your intention to be in violation of our
guidelines and that this most likely was an honest mistake. Please
understand that this action is in no way meant to question your record
with us as a valued member of the community. However, we must strive to
maintain fair and consistent guidelines amongst all of our members.

I would like you to know that when eBay cancels listings, we refund all
fees associated with creating the listing. At this time, however, we are
unable to actually relist auctions for our members, or send them copies
of the removed items. You are completely free to relist, at your
convenience and with the required corrections.

For future reference, the best method to ensure that your listings do
not contain any information that may be problematic in terms of our
listing guidelines is to take some time to fully familiarize with our
site policies. Because our policies do evolve, we ask that you keep
current on our listing policies. You may want to take a moment to review
our various guidelines and sundry listing policies which can be accessed
by navigating your browser to the following URL:

Hi Nancy,
     Thanks so much for posting the Ebay letter - now we will all know what we can and cannot do.  I guess wording is extremely important, in the grand scheme of thngs - at least in Ebay's mind LOL!  We  have all learned a lot, and I 'm sorry it had to be at your expense.  Best of luck with re-listing your auction and hope your wonderful day continues.

Thanks Brenda...I am glad we finally have this all straightened out, because I have seen posts about this before.
I think Filipe did a wonderful job of explaining it.
I will relist tonight...ugh!!!

I think today is the 10 cent listing fee too....so that is a plus.

Back to dobbers lol, we used to tease "dibber dobber doughnut" at school lol 

It stinks that they play with words so much on ebay, but glad that we are still able to place our web on the about me page!

I put so much work into my listings and I make them right on ebay, so I can see how they look.  I know about Practiceboard...but it is easier to just make it and list it at the same time.  My point in all of this is, I don't save the listing.  Once it is listed, it is gone and now I have to start all over.

I had this problem when my lisiting was cancelled ages ago.  What I do now is design every listing in my microsoft front page and then transfer it to the html of ebay.  Also if you go into an old item you can use the relist option.  Then you get the same set up, change the words and photos.  You may already know this but just thought I'd let you know what I do to save loosing everything again!  That was frustrating to loose all that work and I learnt to not leave anything that I would miss on the net without backing it up...if that makes any sense lol

Sarah, I thought the same thing...but Ebay has changed that policy.  They no longer relist, they refund your monies.

Oh I'm sorry...I usually keep the last auction to relist...but I suppose if they cancel it you've lost it...grrrr
Can you look at your past auctions in advanced search and use an older one...just an idea...
