DSCF0079.jpgChowlea-Bears-Full-body.jpgChowlea-Bears-Face.jpgChowlea-Bears-Detailed-head.jpgHenry is very shy - but would like to say hello
He's my first creation - so I would appreciate any feedback you have the time to give.  Don't laugh too hard - it may hurt his feelings.

He is made from fully lined faux fur with suede paws and feet.
His eyes are hand painted and his nose handstitched in perle cotton.
His face is needle-sculpted and scissor sculpted (terrifying)
He is five-way nut and bolt jointed with poly-fibre filling.

I don't have a website as yet but feel free to email or PM

I apologize for the size and quality of the photos - I'm getting to grips with the technology - very slowly.
I may have put it in the wrong section as well    Flippin eck

You've done really well for your 1st bear. Looks like you've been making bears much longer!

Nice work!

You

DID IT

Sandra!  Way to go!  I'm with Edie on this one.... my first bear.... I was just really lucky that he had one body... two legs both pointing forward.....  bear_innocent   Your Henry is fabulous.... and doubly fabulous for a first bear!!!!!
Huge hugs to you Sandra....

Now... Sandra.... the time has  come for you to stop using the embarrassed smiley face     ALL the time!!!!  You've nothing to be red faced about dear!  If we had a "walking on air" smiley, THAT'S the one you should start using!

Sandra... don't think that I am coming down on you love.... I just think you should feel really proud of yourself!  This is a super supportive community and bear makers in general are some of the nicest people in the world.... Before long you'll be   bear_original  instead of

O.K.  Your foot has connected with my posterior    Sometimes I need that.  Self esteem is not something I have in abundance.

I'll get there..

woooow you were brave to use such a long luxurious plush for your first guy!
& he came out beautifully! I think he looks excellent, well done. I am a newbie too
with less than a dozen bears under my belt, & it's only the last couple in which
I've used longer, denser fur & boy it's not nearly as easy as the sparse curly
matted stuff I started off with! So I salute your gorgeous results on this guy!

Did the synthetic stretch when you stuffed him? I had that problem on one.
What was hard? Did you have to do any parts over? What did you learn, &
are there things you wanna try differently next time?

I'm just fascinated by the learning path of bearmaking. & it's a great treat to
have a community like this  bear_grin

That's a beautiful first bear, to my point of view.
He has wonderful eyes and a very sweet look.
You made a very good choice for the fur and well, I wish I had made such a charming bear as a first!!!

So don't feel shy!

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Sandra he is fabulous.  Are you sure this is your 1st bear.   You must be so proud of him.  I agree that that embarrased smiley needs to change.  How about this one   e058.gif

I'm just fascinated by the learning path of bearmaking. & it's a great treat to
have a community like this

a) Henry is fully lined (I wanted to insure against the possibility)
b) I always find the head time consuming because I'm a bit tentative about it.
c) I learned to walk away if I felt all was not going well, and to come back to it later.
d) I want to try different design things such as the shape of the body parts. I don't want to do mass production - but to push myself and have each one different if I can.

I'm grateful for your interest.

Thanks
