Hi,
I made this Bear for the Charity, but something seems to be wrong and I cant put my Finger on it.
I changed his Eyes numerous times, with- without Eyelids, underlined with white Felt, smaller, bigger eyes, etc. He just dont "give me the Look" I want.
Maybe it`s his small Mouth?
I took the eyes out, and he has now the temporary "test eyes".
Do you have any Ideas what is wrong with him?
Even so he is for the Charity, I do want him to look nice
( I forgotten to mention, there was no Choice of Pattern, it had to be the one from Nancy Tillbergs Antike Book Pattern )
Rita
I do think it is the mouth, Rita. Although I think he's very cute anyway. He looks a little like he's about to yawn or has seen something he didn't expect to see. Maybe you could give him sleepy eyes and a little blankie.
I like him.
Perhaps it's his nose? Maybe it should be bigger to balance the eyes? Or perhaps a few strands of black to add depth to it? I like his eyes very much.
Someone will love him. I was just talking to another bear artist today about how the bear we dislike the most but take to a show is always one of the first to sell.
Thank you Sue Ann and Daphne for the Tips.
Now I have an Idea what I can change so he looks better
Rita
I think he is gorgeous. I like him!

Rita, I think he is cute. ;)
Does his mouth have fur underneath it, looks like he has a beard, this may be what makes him look a little different.
I think he is very cute. I agree with Sue Ann, he looks sleepy and a little blankie might be cute. Remember I showed you guys a pic of MEESHA and the Bumble Bee? Well she sold in less than a day much to my surprise. I was not happy with her at all! :mad:You just never know what people like and dislike. I love your little bear. He is wonderful!
Hugs Louise
I like him also. I think maybe outlining his nose with a darker color will help it blend in with his brown fur. The red kinda pops too muc, more like it sitting on the face, not part of the face! Still lovely!
I think your bear is cute. But I may know what your problem is. I too just finished my bear for this same charity and he is cute. I could not get satisfied with his looks though. I finally figured out it is because it is not my style. I cannot take a pattern from Nancy and make it look like one of my own. Even though your bear is cute, it definitely is different from your own design.
Rita, He is cute ! sorry I don't see any problem with your bear :P

Hi Rita, I agree he is a lovely chap. I think it is possibly his mouth too, on my monitor his bottom lip looks rather a strong colour (purpleish), almost a little like he has lip stick on ... maybe this is the point and it is a female bear or it could just be my monitor not showing up the true colour. If it is true, maybe tone that and the red nose down very slightly and he'll look even better. I think the mohair is lovely.
Hugs,
catherine
Rita,
I think he is really really cute. The only thing I could possible see is the upper inner mouth is showing. Can you take a few stitches and pull it up so it cannot be seen from the front?
Love the mohair and the eyes!
From a goofygollimaker;
Give him a little bankie and maybe a pacifier....he looks like he could be a tired little babyboy.
oopps now I read the other posts- Sue Ann said the same thing.....hmmmm hey Sue Ann....great minds? :P

I am almost finished with my bear..... I just have to sew the little bugger up, finish up his face and make his quilt... I actually had the quilt idea before I made the bear... I have quilt squares that i bought 2 years ago and never made a quilt so this was the perfect time to use em up! I dont know how to decorate this little guy though... I was thinking a little hat (like a pajama hat) but I need to get material ... ohhhhh... now wait! i can make a hat with the quilt material! or i can make a bow for his neck with the material! ... he is definetly a male though but I thought that even before making him...
