Hi all!
Well, I think I'm going to give it a try.... I'm going to participate in the next Teddy bear show in my area. It'll be the one in Colombus OH July 15th and Ann Arbor MI July 16th. Sorry if I don't get online as much over the next month; I'll be really trying to get enough bears done for the show.
Well, this is my first little girl for the show. I don't have a name for her yet, but she's another of my little Pocket Bears, standing 5.5 inches tall and made of imported synthetic. Her little ruff around her neck has these really cool colored Swarovski crystals. They're kind of red/orange.
My wonderful husband was so sweet to get me a 72 and a 12 set of Prismacolor pencils (and Apple Dumpling bear, Max!) for our anniversary last week, so I have shaded her with Prismacolor pencils. I LOOOOVE them!
So what to you all think? Is she good enough for show!?!?!? lol

Awww, thanks, Renae! You made my day (and that's really good, because I've been feeling like I'm getting a cold or something....)
Kimberly W.
Oooh Kimberly - she is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love her, she's soooo pudgy and adorable!!!!!! I think you should definatly go to the show - you'll have a ball!
Thanks for sharing!
Danni
OOOHHHH she is just beautiful Kimberly!!!!!!
I absolutely adore her. covet covet covet, ( big sigh)
another one for my wish list(big sigh again)
Wendy
Awww, you ladies are so sweet! Thank you so much! I am thinking Clara for her name, but am not quite sure yet. She's just sitting here, looking at me like, "Mom, when are you going to give me a name?" hee hee
Kimberly W.
Kimberly, she is simply adorable! You must make more like her and fill your table, and the collectors will be abuzz! "Bear people" are such fun to talk with, and you'll have a ball (though I know nothing about the shows you mentioned--I've only done three myself!). Clara is a cute name. Kind of reminds me of Cora, the lady who lived next door when I was little. She and her husband were like grandparents to me. But I digress. Make more, my dear!
Bear hugs,
Debora
"Good enough for show" ????? Dear, she is absolutely wonderful ! She is good enough for contest ! I'm in love !
Debora,
I am so anxious to do a bear show; I did meet one very nice bear artist at this one that I went to this past weekend. Hopefully she will show up here on TT, she said she was told about it there at the show by someone else as well (you KNOW I had to mention our wonderful group!) But I can't wait to do a show, myself!
Marion,
You are so sweet; thank you!!!!!! It makes me so happy that I am getting positive response on this girl. I'll admit, I'm a little scared to do a show..... lol
Kimberly W.
Oh my goodness, Kimberly. I just took a quick peek at some of your 2006 bears on your site--whoa, girl! They are gorgeous! And your needle-felted mousie is adorable. You have nothing to worry about if you display work like that at a show! Even if you don't sell much, the feedback you receive is so helpful, and the collectors get to know who you are and will look for your creations. But you know, I really do think you would sell a lot, unless it's a very slo-o-ow show where people didn't bring any money (which happens sometimes). It's just such fun, that you should go and enjoy yourself. And maybe there will be TTers there!
Big bear hugs and a nudge to do a show,
Debora
Wow, really? Really, really?? Thank you, Debora! As much as I'd love to sell lotsa bears, I mostly want to go just to have participated in one, met all the other artists, collectors, etc etc! It seems so exciting and FUN! Selling a ton of bears wouldn't hurt either! ;)
OOop!!! I'd better get bakc to work!! Look at me sitting here on the computer when there are bears to be done!!!!
Kimberly W.
Yes, I mean it when I say your bears are lovely and you should do a show. Now, go get busy, girl!
Hugs!
Debora
Oooooh, so sweet!
awww she's gorgeous!!!
SHE IS ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is definitely good enough for the show! the name that came to mind when I saw her is Emily
Ooo, Kim Bee, that IS a good name! I think I might have already made an Emily, though... I'll have to look it up.... lol
Kimberly W.
Oh phooey, you did do an emily already (she was off white with a pink and green ribbon ruff).... How about Emma?
My aunt had a friend whose daughter was named Emily. They called her Em, which I think is really cute, but I think most people would think "Em? what kind of name is that?" if I named her that.... lol It is cute for short for Emily, though...
She definitely needs a 'little girl' name... Like Katie. or something... lol
Kimberly W.
OOH Katie is cute!! LOL here we are having an online brainstorm between the two of us again!!!
lol, I guess that's what we do best! Katie sounds like a good name. I wantedt o name her Clara, but that's my sister's newborn's name, and I kind of want to make a Clara bear that they can have.... Agh! Decisions, decisions!!!
Kimberly W.
Hi Kimberly,
She definitely has that "Mumma, pick me up and take me home look" that is so appealing to collectors.
I think you have done a really good job with the shading too.
Love her to bits and sooo tiny. I don't know how you make bears so small.
Sandi
I love her!!! Pretty blue eyes! Show us pictures of your show bears as you finish....I can picture you with a table full of your lovely bears! I'm excited for you.
JeannieB
OH Kimberly she is just adorable, and the shading is superb   She is totally ready for the show...and so are you with your amazing creations.....I am sure as well that little Max is going to love his new mommy and daddy....
Hugs,
Krista
Sandi and Jeannie, thank you both tons and tons; it's so nice of you to help 'pep talk' me for this show.... I know it's a month away, but I've gotta start early building up this confidence that I so lack oftentimes!!!
Krista, Thank you, too!! Max, Nox, Delilah, Claire, my Sassy Bear, my pink bear from Jeannie, and my own little Winnie (my completely small hug) are all waiting quite happily for the arrival of a K Pawz Peachy Keen.... lol But don't worry, I'm not pacing waiting over here (truly, take your time) I'm too busy making bears!
I will DEFINITELY put pics on of all of my show bears - I'll be having a few new patterns (including a couple of bears made from my new pattern the big BumbleBear was made from) and now that I've held in my hands such sweet smallish bears like Nox and Max, I think I'm going to give that sized pattern a go. I'm going to be busy! Geez, this is going to turn into a 'My First Show' documentary... lol!
Kimberly W.
Kimberly! You know how much I love your bears but this one is a favorite! She is gorgeous in every way!
Many Hugs Louise
Awwww  Thank you, Louise!
I'd better watch out, I'm starting to have feelings for this little girl! Gotta remember whY i make these bears, and it's NOT for me to keep all of them!!! lol
