Tansie - A Peachtree Cottage ™ BerryPatch Bunny by Mary Robinson
If you listen to the wind you'll hear it...a little whisper of a tiny voice...soft as the breeze...saying "are theses berries for me?" The words tip toe from leaf to leaf as the tiny voice gets a little louder "Are These Berries For Me?" A soft rustling comes from the middle of the berry patch and out from under a leaf pokes a tiny little head....asking once again "Are These Berries For ME!?!" Yes, they are for you, Little One...they are all yours! Her name is Tanzie (pronounced "Tan-zee") which means "boysenberry" in Bunnyese. She is only 3 inches tall from the bottom of her feet to the top of her berry hat.
Tanzie is a furry little bunny made out of the softest fur you can imagine. Her big feet help her walk through the berry patch as her little paws snag a berry here and there as she goes. On her head is a tiny hat with more berries on it, one spilling over the brim to dangle a bit. Her tiny little bunny tail wiggles as she walks and whenever she gets close to more berries her nose twitches just a bit.
Tanzie is made from my own special thread blend that is as soft as air and has a slight shimmer to it. Her footpads and paws are pure white and she also has a white muzzle. The fur on her face has been scissor sculpted and her eyes are slightly shaded to give her expression added depth. Her hat is removable and made from white cotton and the berries are handmade from egyptian thread and special beads. The berry leaves also cotton and are attached to the berries, which are attached to her hat and paw. Her special little nose is made from embroidery thread in the same color as the berries. As with all my thread crochet bears or friends, she can stand on her own two feet without support. Her head is a one piece design that incorporates the muzzle into the shape and her face is scissor sculpted. Her eyes are shaded and her nose is embroidered in coordinating threads. Her eyes are black onyx beads and the berries are also beaded.
I love all the beadwork!

Tansie is such a Beauty!
Thank you :-) I've already had someone ask what kind of mohair I used to make her but I didn't use mohair....she's a thread crochet bunny
Thanks Renae, I'm sure Tanzie would love to come play...or maybe her cousin that prefers blackberries....hmmmm.....
/bunnyhugs,
Now that is very cute. Unusal and cute!!
Thank you, Matilda. I'm working towards Master Artisan with the Thread Artist Guild and one of the criteria is to make a unique creation from scratch (i.e. new design without using a pattern). Tanzie is my creation for that criteria.
/bunnyhugs,
Tanzie was looking over my shoulder when I read your reply, Renae. She kept saying in my ear "whoopie, more berries!" hehe
/bunnyhugs,
