BC2.jpgChristine Crocker, from Deerfield Farmhouse, and I are working on a collaboration piece for the San Jose, California show.  Christine has been selected as one of our countries Top 200 Artisans for the second year in a row and is listed in the Directory of Traditional American Craftsmen, through Early American Life magazine, for her 18th and 19th century inspired dolls.  Christine's work has also been published in Country Home, Better Homes & Gardens, Romantic Homes and Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion...to name just a few!  I'm very excited about working with Christine.  I've been a collector of her work since the early 90's.  Her dolls were the inspiration for my Dolly Bears.  The doll in this picture is from my own private collection.  Her name is Anna and she's an 1820's girl.  Anna is pictured with Charlotte.  Charlotte will be available for adoption in San Jose, July 23rd.  Please contact me if you'd like more information about the San Jose show.  You may peek in on more of Christine Crocker's work at www.deerfieldfarmhouse.com

Warmest bear hugs,

I think your bears and her dolls go well together.I had a look on her website and even though I have had a strong dislike of dolls my entire life I liked them. She seems to evoke a bygone era really well.I used to work opposite the museum of childhood in edinburgh and spent my lunch in there looking at the old dolls and bears and there were dolls very similar.I will look forward t seeing your collabaoration.Well done.

Aleta!!!!!!  That IS exciting news!!!!!  Oh how wonderful!

Now... please... anyone who is reading... I mean this in the BEST of ways... Aleta... how dare you post such a fascinating link here!  Really, you are to be most severely scolded!!!  I have just spent the better part of two hours pouring over Christine Crocker's site as well as all the links provided therein (I think her daughter's site and a textile site, and......)  Well now, the children have had to make do with cold cereal instead of the French toast that I thought I would make them... my husband's dress shirts remain in a crumpled pile on the floor.... and the dishes have not been put away..... We are due at the library for toddler storytime in half an hour and I haven't even showered!  AHHHGGGG!!!!  Shame on you Aleta!   bear_innocent  bear_innocent

I can't wait to see what the two of you come up with!!!!!!!     bear_wub  bear_smile

How lovely! I am intrigued by this collaboration, and I can't wait to see pictures. Thank you for sharing! My mom collected antique dolls for yeeears (which I where I got the bear bug from--antique bears), but I really like the doll you have pictured with your sweet bear.  bear_flower
