I am venting and I know there are plenty of others who are worse off but I am tired and I need a break.
For the last 3 weeks I have had sick kids......
Ill enough to go to hospital with a meningicoccal scare type ill. I have been to the Dr 4 times in the last 3 weeks with the girls and it looks to be a 5th.
My youngest Lauren has attached herself to me screaming. she just won't stop there is nothing dreadfully wrong with her she just is in a filthy mood from the cold she is getting over.
Natasha has vomitted starting last night, in her bedroom, in the lounge room in the bathroom..... to top it all off the poor kid has watery bowels and just can't make it to the loo in time.
I have hadt o put off a tonne of jobs that were meant to be done by 31st July They haven't happened. I finally got down to the post office to send off bears that were meant to be gone 3 weeks ago!
I need some sleep, desperately need some sleep and the kids to get better.
There self pity party over.
Oh Bron, I think we can all sympathise with you enormously. Sicky kids, one after another really can get you down mentally and physically. It's times like this that I think that the washing machine is the greatest invention ever.
All I can do is give you the best piece of advice I was ever given, and it was said to me by a Doctor during a fairly difficult time in my life, it was "Nothing ever stays the same forever". Repeating that over in my mind at difficult times has certainly helped me hold on for better days.
I hope the little chickens are better soon. Good on you SuperMum.
Dear Bron,
I promise it will get better when they are a little older. Hang in there and just do what you can. Leave the bears they can wait!! You will end up sick if you don't get some sleep.
Be very careful with the vomiting - there are some very nasty 'gastro type' bugs going around.
hugs Lisa
Renae its been 4 sick kids but 2 really sick ones!
I will get there I know but poor DH works such long hours that he comes home and collapses too! Natasha really is too ill to do anything she is just lying curled up on the couch.
I know that by tomorrow when hubby does have the day off I will be running off for a couple of hours to get some breathing space.
I don't think you're venting either. It's so hard to be wife and mother! I'm glad you felt free to share and get some understanding and support here. Wish I had a miracle solution for you but it always boils down to time, rest, and sometimes, medicine, doesn't it? I sure do understand how leaving the house to see a doctor, with a long wait beforehand, is the last thing a tired, sick person or mom wants to do. Especially five times over! Ack. No easy solution. I remember when my Noah ran a fever of 104.5 for days, not so long ago. I just hovered over him feeling helpless and sad for him and putting cool washcloths on his forehead in between doses of kiddie ibuprofen, which was the only thing that made him comfortable. It was hard on me too.
I'll be thinking of you and sending warm, but not feverish, healing thoughts! Hang in there!
Aww Bronwen, I don't envy you. It is so hard to be a mom now adays. Do't let anyone push you to be supermom. Just do what you can and no more than that.
Hugs
Soya
I'm not a mom... but I have lots of these to send your way:

I do remember those days . . . I only had two kids (17 months apart), but they had EVERYTHING at the same time. At ages 3 and 4, they both had pneumonia. I hope you can find the time to restore yourself, Bronwen. Just try to do it because your kids need you to be well and strong. I empathize, my friend.
Bronwen - Oh, I'm so sorry you are going through such a time. If I lived close by I would come take care of your kids so you could go off somewhere quiet and restful to sleep for a few days. Since that isn't possible I will say a special prayer  for your family and you. Take care and know this to shall pass. Hang in their!!
Yes, I remember those days also and you worry so much when they are sick and running a temperture.
I really hope Your children will be soon over this nasty bug and life will get back to normal for you all.
My thoughts an hugs are with you
Carolyn

Arrrgh Bronwen I really really feel for you....don't you just wish you could run away and hide sometimes, I know it won't make you feel any better right now but it will be all over soon!!!!! Make sure that as soon as everyone is well enough you take some time for yourself to recover!!! In the meantime lots of     and warm wishes from me!!
Poor you Bronwen and those poor kids! It is hard when your kids get sick, I've been there many times having had five kids of my own. I hope the little ones soon feel well soon and that you get that very well earned break. Let your husband take over and make time just for you. Take care!
Hugs Jane.

Thankyou. hubby came home early from work today and sent me to bed for 2 hours. The warm thoughts are well appreciated.
Thankyou
Hang in there Bronwen, and get some rest.
Of course you're tired....you are beyond tired, my love, you are a sleep deprived zombie.

And she is 100% correct. It got better for me.....let's see, when he turned 25?
No I am teasing you, gently. It truly will get better when they are a wee bit older. And in your situation venting /pity parties, whatever you want to call it , are more than justified. They are life saving.
I am so sorry your little ones are ill, and hope things get better soon. But you must take care of yourself or you will become ill too....now that is scary!
Can you imagine if the little ones and you were sick?
Wash your hands alot!
We
are here-and we understand.....
Rest when you can and take care!
Huge hugs Bronwen and hope that the littlies are all well soon...I feel so bad for you...that is too much for anyone to deal with all at once...rest while you can hon and sending big hugs your way
Bronwen I am sending more hugs for you and a big 3 cheers for your hubby!!
Oh Bronwen, how I sympathize . . .
I only had 3 sick all at once, but it never failed--one sneeze or pukarama or runny nose, and they all had it. These things seemed to hang on forever.
You think you're going to die from the worry and exhaustion. Then the school calls to lecture you about truancy, ACKKK.
When all 3 of mine were sick with measles, I sent Hubs out for our fist VCR. That was a while back, but it saved my sanity!
Just remember
1. Everything's washable.
2. Your loyal customers will wait, and some of them have been there!

To everyone. still no sleep but the mood has improved.
Bron
Still thinking of you!!!
Hugs Lisa
Eileen, I have never heard the term "Pukarama" before. I love it and it is so descriptive.
