Does anyone have a yummy tropical punch recipe that doesn't call for alcohol? Tomorrow is the Portland Paws picnic here at my house and I'm busily preparing and decorating. Rather than just serving soda, tea and water I thought a yummy tropical punch would be more in keeping with the tropical theme.
Anyone?

Hi Aleta!
I always check in with www.allrecipes.com and www.foodtv.com for recipe ideas. I just did a quick search on both sites and they've got some good ones. Even if some call for alcohol you could omit or substitute sparkling instead. (The Sunrise Punch @ FoodTV looks pretty good to me!) I like that they freeze the fruit to keep it cold, it won't water down the punch. And you can buy bags of frozen pineapple..no need to cut one up
1 quart fresh orange juice
32 ounces canned or fresh pineapple juice
2 cups coconut milk
1 liter seltzer water
1 pineapple, peeled cut into 1-inch cubes and frozen
1 pint of strawberries, hulled and frozen
1 orange sliced thin
4 cups light rum, optional
To a large punch bowl, add orange juice, pineapple juice, coconut milk and seltzer. Mix well. Place frozen pineapple chunks and strawberries in the punch to keep it cold. Float the orange slices on top of the punch for garnish. If desired, add rum.
Have so much fun and my thoughts will be with you, especially when it is time to clean up!
Oh Aleta,
I hope you all have a wonderful time (although I admit, I wish I could be there)!!!
hugs,
Brenda
OOOH... there is one that I am not sure what all goes in it though... it is a combo of juices and either sprite or gingerale and sherbert... lemme see if I can find the receipe online (my mom knows it but she is still probably asleep)... brb. ...
here are a couple
SHERBERT PUNCH
Scale ingredients to servings
1 can unsweetened chilled pineapple juice
2 bottles chilled ginger ale
3 qt soft raspberry sherbet
Combine all ingredients in a punch bowl.
PARTY PUNCH 1
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups cranberry juice
3 cups apple juice
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, about 3 to 4 lemons
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 can (8 ounces) pineapple chunks in juice, undrained
1 liter or quart soda water
PREPARATION:
Combine cranberry juice, apple juice, and lemon juice. Add lemon slices and pineapple chunks. Chill. Serve over ice in a punch bowl; add soda water.
Recipe for party punch makes 3 quarts.
PARTY PUNCH
2 (12 fluid ounce) cans frozen concentrated grape juice
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen concentrated fruit punch
8 liters lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
2 lemons
1/2 gallon raspberry sorbet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
Cut lemon into tiny wedges that will fit into 1 cube of an ice cube tray. Place one wedge into each cube, cover with water and freeze.
Thaw concentrated grape juice and fruit punch; mix together. Set aside in refrigerator.
Just before serving, mix a third of the concentrate with a third of the soda. (I like to make in batches of three so it stays bubbly and fresh during the event). Pour the soda in slowly. Add a tray of the lemon wedge ice cubes and a few generous scoops of raspberry sorbet.
PERFECT PARTY PUNCH
INGREDIENTS:
1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle fruit punch
2 (15 ounce) cans pineapple chunks
1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
2 bananas, sliced
2 pints fruit flavored sherbet
1 (2 liter) bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
In a large punch bowl, pour fruit punch. Add pineapple chunks, strawberries and bananas. Slide in the sherbet and slowly pour in the lemon-lime soda.
By the way, whenever I need a receipe (unless I can get it from my mom or in one of my many cookbooks), I go to this website.... http://allrecipes.com/ I found this website a couple years ago and love it!!!!
Also, I think the third recipe is the one I was talking about.
Thank you very much for all the recipes!! I wasn't able to use them this year but you can bet I'll use one or two next year!! Thank you again.
Warmest bear hugs,
