Last month our two year old grandson began pulling his mum into his playroom, pointing at the TV and saying "wangothere"! We finally figured out he wanted to go to Marineland and when we asked if he wanted to see the fish, he said "no, see doffins"! That certainly tells me what the power of the media is LOL!
Anyway, last week, my daughter and I took Corson to Marineland and we had a blast. He was like a kid at Christmas, all day long. We took him on his first rides, he sat through a 40 minute show with seals and dolphins, saw the orcas in the aquarium and fed the beluga whales and the black bears. We actually took him on a ride that he probably shouldn't have been on, as he was a bit under the height requirement. It was similar to the tea cup ride at Disneyworld, but it went much faster. We thought he would be frightened, but I think we have a wee adrenalin junkie - he just kept saying "faster, faster"! So if you don't mind, I am posting some pictures from our day. I hope you enjoy them and for those of you who don't have grandchildren yet - it's fantastic!

Brenda
What a wonderful day out you must have had, with your daughter and Corson.
Thanks for sharing your day at Marineland.
It doesn't seem that long ago that I was a small child visiting Marineland in Napier NZ - I still remember the dolphins and whales - ( they were so clever ) I loved it.
Hugs
Carolyn
Hi Carolyn,
Yep, I agree - it was as much fun for me as Corson. My husband was disappointed that he missed it, as he has never seen whales up that close. I think when we get settled and the weather is cooler in the fall, we will go back so he can see how much fun it is.
hugs,
Brenda
The joy on your little grandsons face is just a delight to see - thank you for sharing this super day you had.
Your daughter is beautiful and your grandson......SOOO cute!!
I have 2 young sons and my parents spoil them rotten and adore them SO much! They say that being grandparents is the best thing ever!! Probably because you can give the children back......
Gemma,
It's absolutely true - grandparents get to have all of the fun but none of the responsibility. I think it's our reward for surviving our own kids!
hugs,
Brenda
What a great day for all of you!
Hi Brenda ! thanks so much for sharing your pics !!!
Your daughter is beautiful mom and your grandsons is sooooooooooooooo adorable !!!

Marie
Hi Marie,
The bears were fun to watch, although it's sad that they are in captivity. They sold treats to feet the bears, and they quickly learned who had the food. They would follow you, if you moved! LOL! Animals are so smart.
hugs,
Brenda
Oh Brenda,
I'm so jealous!! That looks like sheer bliss. You are so blessed! My heart yearns for grandchildren. (sigh) Someday.....
Warmest, green with envy, bear hugs,
Aleta
Quy? How about a green with envy smiley?
What a blast, Brenda--little Corson looks so happy!
Me too, Aleta Two married daughters and no grandchildren yet, trying hard to keep me mouth shut . . .
But I have a lot of faith in my son's-in-law.
They're always cooing over somebody's baby, and can't wait to have their own
Aleta and Eileen,
My fingers are crossed for you two! I think my daughter and son-in-law were enjoying their lifestyle and were contemplating not having kids, when mother nature butted in, thank goodness. Now they can't imagine life without Corson, and neither can we. There really is nothing like it. When Corson comes running with his arms open, yelling "Nanny", I just melt.
Here's a funny story - about six months ago, we went to visit them. Everyone was sitting around the kitchen table and there was one chair left and two of us were standing, my daughter and I. Sarah went to sit down, and Corson pushed her out of the way and she almost landed on her butt. Then very sweetly, he looked at me with a smile, patted the chair and said "Nanny sit". Needless to say, I was on top of the world for the rest of the day! LOL!
hugs,
Brenda
Great pictures, Brenda. Thanks for sharing your day, it looks like it was wonderful. Corson is just darling and seems like a real bundle of fun! You're a lucky Nanny!
ACK--Now I'm even more envious, Brenda!!
However, Mother N. does have a way of stepping in . . .
Brenda,
Corson is tooo cute! It's obvoius that he had a total blast on all of the rides and with the animals. I love the story about him saving a seat for you!
My mom's been "sighing" for grandkids for years. About 2 years ago we were shopping in a Marshalls Department Store and she was picking out little tea cups for "her grandkids"...for when they come over for tea. (to date there are no grandkids, soon, but not yet) My husband says...what if you have boys?? She says that one of her friends has tea parties with her grandson all the time and he loves it. Well, that was all my "Philadelphia Eagles Nut" of a sports loving, hockey playing, husband had to hear! "Ahhhh, my kids' not playing tea party...". So they compromised on little "espresso" cups that say coffee on them and the future grandson gets hot chocolate. This is my life

What a wonderful time...I'm with Aleta...my heart yearns for grandkids someday soon. HOWEVER, I'm willing to wait until the time is right...I just wish it would hurry up and get here.
It's funny...I never wanted kids myself...then had my oldest very young...now I can't imagine life without them. Mother Nature sure does have a way of doing what SHE wants.
Beautiful photo's Brenda....keep sharing them!!!
Lovely pics Brenda! Thanks for sharing them
