Hey Ladies.

Anyone remember how we were going to post the progress on our New Years Resolutions?

I know some people wanted to loose weight, and some quit smoking. I would love to hear how it's going.

As for me, I quit smoking before new years, but I'm giving myself a resolution credit for it anyway. I've also lost like 35 lbs since then. Not much as I still have that much to go, but it's a start. I can run, run up many flights of stairs, and I love shopping for clothes and I've NEVER said that.

So, I want to hear how you guys are doing.

I also want to give a huge thanks to Sue Ann. It was because of your original post that got me off my butt and started to eat healthy and get some activitiy. I owe you tonnes and tonnes.

Great job, Heather! I, too, quit smoking and not a moment too soon, since I recently got pregnant. I did want to lose about 10 lbs., but I guess I'm off the hook for now! bear_grin I used to be a Pepsi-holic, but I have almost eliminated soda from my diet. That's good for the baby and my waist!

Anyone else gonna share? And of course, a big thanks to Sue Ann. bear_original

Congratulations, Heather! That's awesome!!!! So...... we need an updated picture of you!  :photo:

Sandi, yippee on being pregnant and good to your body!!

I was aiming to loose 25 pounds. I lost a whole 7 at one point in time... gained back 3 of that so I'm not doing too well there!

So... as of this morning when I woke up I started a new resolution.... no more chocolate and crappy food! OK, that's harsh... I'm allowing myself a WEE bit.. like ONE cookie... a day... but no chocolate! I can't ever go cold turkey cause the cravings are so bad that I binge really bad and thus never get anywhere. Anyway, today I've had NO CHOCOLCATE, no junk food.... just coffee! And you know, I can focus a bit better today and am not quite as slow moving. Just think how much better I'll feel tomorrow! And the day after!!! Love instant gratification! (I haven't told myself this yet but if I cut out some of this junk food I've been eating - it's ALL I've been eating - then I'll just naturally start loosing weight! Shhhh!!)

So... if you didn't make a new years resolution or weren't quite successful how about a 9/11 resolution?????

Thanks, Heather, for bringing back this topic.  I've started to do it several times, but didn't want to admit that I'm not doing so well myself.  Congratulations for your fantastic progress, and yours too, Sandi, especially your pregnancy!  Daphne, sounds like your self discipline is working well.  I did manage to lose 10 lbs., then put back on a few while vacationing in Alaska.  So, I've got to get back into better eating habits (as I just finished off a bar of Lindt Excellence 70% cocoa, dark chocolate bar).  Congratulations to all of you that have made progress . . . I wish us all even more as we wind up the year.

I also want to give a huge thanks to Sue Ann. It was because of your original post that got me off my butt and started to eat healthy and get some activitiy. I owe you tonnes and tonnes.

You are very welcome!!

Thanks for brining this up...I thought several times about it, but didn't have the courage to post the question.

As for my progress: I quit smoking before New Year's and have not gone back....thought about it once or twice, then slapped myself for the thought. Kicked my hubby and others that visited us at camp outside to have their smokes....I stayed away! If I have one, I know I will have more.........

I have 9 long fingernails that keep getting in my way as I type.....I still nibble on the right thumb  bear_sad  but I have gotten compliments on the others!

As for weight loss, well, it was weight gain. I start a water aerobics class today, hopefully that will help in this area! I do need to start cooking healthier again, I did a year ago and lost some weight, but I guess I went back to the same old meals I used to make.

Congrats to all who have stuck with their resolutions and kept on them! It is not an easy task.
