255-5596_IMG.JPGOn my earlier post, pictures of my collection were requested. I will take pictures of all of my artist bears later and post them to my picturetrail album, but here are a couple of my favorites that I already have pictures of stored in my computer. The panda is by Teri Crews and is sitting with one of my dolls, and the second picture is of Ellsworth by Bearfoot Elegance (Janelle Bruchu and Michelle Mitchell). I love all of my bears, but Teri Crews is one of my favorite artists. I have several of her bears.

Wonderful bears. Last I knew Janelle had stopped making bears due to her husband's death and poor health. That was earlier this year. I hope she can find it in her heart to start sewing again. I love her bears!!! bear_wub

I occasionally visit her website to see if there are new bears. I knew there had been none in a long time, but I was not aware that her husband was ill until I saw what she had posted to her site. I, too hope she will feel up to making bears again sometime.

Wow... Those are lovely bears and I really like your doll, too.  She has a charming expression.

Patty, I'd be curious to learn how you display/store your collection.  I'm a bear collector myself but I have only a small collection -- dang, those things are pricey!  Laughing here... ! -- and it fits nicely into the top of a glassed-in antique hutch.

If you'd be willing to share I'd love to hear...

Thanks for posting the pics!

Thanks for the compliments on my collection. Shelli, right now, I have MANY more dolls than bears. I still have quite a number of mass produced bears, but only have 15-20 artist hand made bears so far. I have somewhere around 300 dolls. When we bought our house, we converted the den into a doll room for me. My husband built shelving all the way around the room and I also have a small cabinet and a shelving unit in the middle of the room. It is just myself, my husband and my 7 year old son in the house so I am able to keep that door closed when I am not in there. I also have two cats, and keeping the door closed keeps them from going in that room and shedding. Since I am really the only person that goes in there on a regular basis, there is not a lot of foot traffic, which in turn makes for very little dust. I also have a dehumidifier in that room to help keep it a nice, even temperature all of the time.

The doll in the picture is a Yolanda Bello Originals doll from 1988. Her name is Tai-Ling.

Your Bears and doll are wonderful Patty - The Panda Bear is just gorgeous and the expression on the dolls face is delightful and she is so pretty.

I used to make porcelain dolls and I have a small collection in a glass cabinet.
Thanks for sharing your photos of some of your collection, with us.

They are both lovely, I wouldn’t be able to choose between them both.
The doll too is beautiful.
I started by collecting dolls before I started bear making,.
I have a number of dolls by Pauline, and a few other dolls but I sold most of the Ashton drake dolls I bought years ago at the fairs. I think your likes and dislikes change over the years, I had a few small artist bears, now I only have seven artist bears one very lovely bear I recently adopted who is and always will be my favourite.
