Sunnie BearsAAARRRRGGGGHHH.... Today my Sunshine (my little yorkie) is due with her puppies. I am like a nervous grandma waiting for something to happen. We do know from the x-rays that she is going to have 3. Now if she would just hurry and have them! I will keep you all posted. And I promise to take pictures.
Sunnie they have to be some of the cutest and smallest puppies ever born- can hardly wait to see them. I have always wanted a Yorkie but our Maltese is pretty cute

Back Road BearsAny YET????
A friend of mine just assisted in the c-section birth of 14 deer hounds... yup, 14!!!!! Only one was still born.
I can't imagine being in that house as those puppies get bigger! Yikes! (Deer Hounds are like oversized, scruffy looking gray afghan hounds. You could almost put a saddle on them and ride them as they are so huge but so skinny!)
Sonya, your yorkie puppies are going to so tiny and cute and a dream to raise by comparison.

Sunnie BearsDrats! This little girl acts like it is just any other day. I just KNOW she will have them in the middle of the night. In fact, it almost IS the middle of the night. Camera is ready and so is she. I can feel the puppies all crowded up near her birth canal. She won't even go near the birthing area we set up for her. Everytime I turn around one of the other dogs is in there sleeping tho. If she doesn't have them soon she will be rolling around. She is darned near as wide as she is long and tall. :crackup: :crackup:
Sigh.. maybe tonight..

sigh... now what is the deal? All of the info I have read says 63 days from breeding. It is now 65 days. and she just wants to play. kind of like girls just wanna have fun. No wonder grandmas get grey hair

Sunnie BearsDrats! No babies yet! The vet seems to think she will be able to have them on her own without a c-section. She wasn't at all concerned that she is overdue. This morning she finally went into the whelping box and started making a "nest" in the box. But she won't stay in there unless I lay down right next to her. Camera is ready, I am ready.. SHE IS READY.... but she is being stubborn. lol
Pam, yep, her first litter. I think she finally figured out that there are puppies in there. All 3 of them poke out in bugles in 3 different directions. lol Poor baby. I just wish she would hurry so if she DOES end up needing a c-section, the vet will be available. They only do emergencies until 10 pm now. After 10pm we have to drive out of town and it is 80 miles to the vet there.
