Foxpainting.jpgKingfisherpainting.jpgI've loved to draw and paint ever since I was in third grade . . . my teacher was a wonderful artist and got me interested.  Here is some stuff from the 70s and 80s.  Raccoonpainting.jpg Squirrelpainting.jpg
Tigerpainting.jpg Sorry these are so huge . . . sometimes I can't tell how big they're going to come out.  Guess you can tell I like animals.  I got into close-up butterfly photography in the 70s and 80s, too.

Nestpainting.jpgThanks much, Jodi.  After getting into teddies, I haven't painted anything.  This one is the last thing I did and it was 10 years ago.  I'm seriously thinking of painting a few of my bears - - - someday.

Wooooowwwwwwwww, Sue Ann!!!

My fav is the squirrel though they are all fantastic! And that nest!
Oh, Sue Ann, you must paint again.
I know a woman who paints bears and is going to start attending bear shows, selling her work and taking commissions. You would do a marvelous job painting your bears as you are so intimately connected to them.

Thanks for sharing your work!

Denise, your gardens are exquisite!! I live in a condo now and so only have a small garden...but when I owned my home...I found gardening so theraputic...a wonderful way to get out of the rat race of daily life and strife.

Everyone's work is just wonderful. A lot of talent here!

Those paintings are wonderful.

Judi -
As always I love your work.

Charlotte -
Anyone who makes baskets is Aces in my book.

I tried basket weaving, it was ok. But I know that it takes time to develop a hand for it.
I have my basket around here somewhere, It looks like the bottom half of a fish.
We have a friend who is a basket weaver and she does wonderful work. In fact, I have a huge yarn basket that she made, I also have a bicycle basket that I use to hold odds and ends.

Let's see. When I was younger I liked drawing and even took art lessons from a local gal. I took piano lessons when I was in 5th grade that lasted about a year. For some dumb reason I thought that delivering papers would be more fun... Big mistake. I studied voice in college and love to sing when I can. I have sewn for most of my life and I like to make clothing for MaeLynn when I get the chance. But usually, by the time I get around to making it she has out grown it. I tried my hand at watercolors, but that didn't last long, due to the fact that I didn't have money to pay for it. Hey I was 12, back to newspapers. I like to knitting, making fleece hats, folk art crafts when I can, computer geek of the home, and animal lover. I have atleast 3 knitting projects going on that will take about 5 years to complete, but only beacuse I get one day a year to work on them. I can knit with both hands. I taught myself how to do that in a couple of days that is fun.

Thanks to you all for liking my work . . . I'm a little hesitant to get back into painting since I haven't done it for so long.  But your collective comments have been a little kick in the bum to attempt it again -  so consider yourselves very much appreciated for the boost.

Jare,
Thanks very much!!! Once one has tried basketweaving...they usually don't continue...but sure do have a very good understanding of how it's done...and how much goes into the process!!! How wonderful that you have a basket weaver friend...& have some of her work
