I just got some bogus email from a Mr Christopher Williams who apparently   bear_wacko  from the UK Mational Lottery. who.... bear_wacko  says that I have just won myself the jackpot of 850,000.00pounds.
   bear_wacko right....as though I'm going to be stupid enough to clink the link he sent.  this is definitely a right crackup this one.
It would be a bugga if it was true aye???
How b*^#@y gullible do they think people are?
Or is it our curiosity that gets the better of us?  bear_whistle
They set the bait and curiosity does the rest.
Has anyone else got one of these?

Yep, I've won 30 million dollars in the Netherlands lottery, quite a few times.  All times, I'm too lazy to give them the info they need

I must be the luckiest person alive I reckon! LOL

Well, I think I've won about a gazillion all expenses paid trips to the Caribbean by phone in the last couple months - too bad I wasn't willing to press the required numbers to respond! Now if they happen to phone again in a month or two when it is 40 below here it could be a different story - as far as temptation, I mean! bear_grin Funny isn't it, even though you KNOW it is a scam, there is this little part of you that keeps going "yeah, but what IF ...."!!!

Sure enough,  I won 10 million in the European lottery last week, too.  Boy are we lucky or what?  I think all they ask for is your full name, bank account number, credit card number, social security number, tax id number, date of birth and mother's maiden name for them to deposit the money into your bank account.

Do you suppose there is anybody gullible enough to fall for it?

Well, in the first place...I thought in order to win a lotery...ya had to buy a ticket...or enter somehow...and I am sure there are some who do fall for these bogus e-mail...you know that old saying " There is a sucker born every day" But I ain't their sucker...have you seen the one in german yet...I have gotten that one almost daily...along with many others...wish I had a huge bug zapper to squash their computers with for sending that kind of garbage...can you just imagine...sizzle sizzle zap zap...and their computers turn into a pile of rubble!!!And their speakers say over & over..."you won the lottery...you creep"

I haven't come across this, thank goodness.
But I know that the old and sick sometimes get sucked in to these things, they seem to prey on the people that can least afford it.

bear_original No bogus lotteries yet, but . . .

I keep getting messages from someone in Norway who's seen my name on www.findatutor.ca, wanting a month's intensive tutoring for his son.

I couldn't understand what he was saying about a colleague's nanny's sister looking after the boy in Canada, blah blah, so I queried.

WELL--this dude didn't answer my questions, but announced that he intended to send about $5000 to my bank account to cover his son's flight expenses.

You can guess where it would have gone from there  . . .

Why are they picking on poor impoverished tutors? bear_ermm
