I have been experimenting a little with needlefelting. I made this little poodle (with a wire armature, and cream mohair roving.) Then to add the curls, I used shirley temple curly doll hair which I needlefelted to the mohair base. Since she has a wire armature base, she is fully poseable. Her name is Suzie (after a sweet little chubby poodle I used to know) and she is approx 6 inches nose to tail and 4 inches from front paws to top of her head. Sure coud use some feedback. Have any of you ever needlefleted with a mix of mohair and synthetic??

AWWWWWW! Sonya I just love that sweet little girl, you have made a really beautiful little dog there.
I have not needlefleted with a mix of mohair and synthetic but I can see how wonderful the result is when it's done.
Hugs Jane.

(Dilu - what were you doing up at 3:30am??? )
Sonya, what a cutie she is! And what a lot of work. At least I've found felting in individual fibers like her curls to be very tedious. I could never make dolls for this reason! I think you've done a wonderful job and I wouldn't change a thing.
I have felted mohair into synthetic w/o much of a problem but there was stuffing inside which is what I was actually fussing the mohair fibers to so I'm not sure that's going to help you here.
I love her though! Isn't it fun to experiment???
What a great result of an experiment! You rock, Sonya!!!
Oh she is adorable, needle felting a nose is as far as I have gone. LOL
   Love her Sonya!!! Awesome results for you experiment!
Sonya, what a wonderful little poodle! I love her loose curls! I don't think you should change a thing!
Thanks everyone. I started this poodle a long time ago. I had the base done without the curls and had no idea how I was going to get them. Then I ran across a package of curly doll hair and thought why not? Once I started, she looked like a little SWEET chubby poodle that used to live by me and came to visit all the time. She had lots of curls that were loose but adorable. I like this so much that I probably will keep her.

Awe, She is darling! Can you do a Doxie?
I say your experimentation worked great. She is adorable.
jenn, I haven't tried a dachshund yet. But I imaging it would not be too hard. Maybe that will be my next needlefelting experiment.
Sonya, that is the CUTEST little needle felted dog that I have ever seen!! I love her curly hair, she is really adorable!
