I just got some of the super lon nylon thread from Stephanie and is it every super. Extremely strong - I can't break it easily - but very thin. It seems to just blend into the fabric and it grabs - if that makes sense. I just ordered 3 colours but I think I'll be getting more each time I make a fabric order. I haven't tried it on a mini yet - I'm using it on a full size bear. I don't think I'll be going back to upholstery threads again.

I agree, I use it on all my bears big and small, and the colours blend in.
Have you tried the magic stuff that you run the thread thru ?
Sassy also supplies it , think it is Thead Heaven

I've been using that for many months and love it but find that I don't need it so much on the nylon threads....but always use it for the upholstery or regular threads. Makes such a big difference.

Super-lon Nylon Thread
Super-lon nylon thread. Size AA, 75 yards per bobbin. Very thin, but super-strong! Thin enough to go in a beading needle. Makes a small, tight knot. Does not need to be waxed. The best sewing thread I have found yet!

Sassy Bears is in the USA, visit the site and you can order the thread. It comes in many colours.
Sold I think mainly for mini bears, but I use it for all my hand sewing on my bears.
Sassy also sells a product called "Thread Heaven" this can be used on thicker threads to help prevent them from fraying out, its a gimic product but one that does work.

Marion.  I know the thread.
Here in New Zealand they sell a thread called Nymo beading thread.  I think it is the same thread as super-lon.
It is the most wonderful thread that I have ever used.  I know what you mean that the colour matches the fabric so well. Isn't is good how it seams to grip the fabric.
After using it 2 weeks ago i was telling all my bear artist friends about it
Everyone must try it. I know i I must sound a bit getting soooooooo excited over thread!!!!!!!!

It's always neat to find something that actually works well! I've actually put away my upholstery threads and ordered a bunch of the Sassy bobbins in different colours - which doesn't hurt much cause they're only $1.25 a bobbin. Each bobbin holds a fair amount of thread by the way.  Thank you Stephanie for finding this for us!
But Toby - if you want to use the other thread do order the thread conditioner Thread Heaven. It really makes a big difference - I even use it on my needles.

I use it on my bigger bears too. It's so much stronger than any other thread that size that I've used. Once I tried it, I just had to carry all the colors!
Super-lon IS THE SAME AS C-lon beading thread, just a different brand name. It's made by the same manufacturer. Nymo is pretty much the same too.
I'll never go back to other threads for hand sewing. The stitches are nice and tight and STAY that way. It also makes a very tiny knot that doesn't come undone.
