I've just been asked by one of my customers to sign the footpad of the bear she has just bought from me. I have never done this and am really worried about ruining my bear  bear_shocked  Have any of you done this and what kind of pen should I use so it does not run and is permanent and looks nice!!  I have used ultra-suede on the paws.  I'm nervous about this one!

Thanks,
Catherine

I've always liked the Sakura Pigma Micron Pens.  The 005 and 01 are small tips, great for mini pads and signing pads.  I haven't signed a pad in a while, but when I did I used these. They don't bleed and they're fadeproof.  Always test and practice on a scrap of the material you plan to write on bear_original  I use these pens for my mini hag tags...they're such a fine tipped pen... the writing just looks so much prettier.

I used the same pens that Chrissi mentioned and they're great!
I went into my local art supply store with a scrap of ultrasuede and told them what I was looking for and why, they let me try them out to see which one I liked best.  They don't smudge (once it's dried) and they don't fade either!
Hope you can find them! bear_grin

Like Chrissi and Andrea I also use Micron and swear by them for all kinds of things.  I've never signed a footpad but I've used them to sign tushtags and they don't bleed.  The 01 size is itty bitty small.  I can't imagine what 005 might be!
