I listed my bear Dougal on Ebay.com last night in the featured listing section for the first time.  I said that I post worldwide so that it will also appear in the ooak section on Ebay.co.uk.  This has always worked for me when listing in the general section, but I just checked and I'm not listed on the UK site.  Because Dougal was an award nominee in the UK mag TBS I wanted him to appear there too    Not sure what I can do, do I have to list him separately, I hope not because I'm already paying so much to list him in the featured section?  How can I get the two listings to match time wise now if I do have to list him a second time?!!!  HELP!

Catherine,
I just checked out  your bear in Canadian Ebay..  It always showed up in both Canadian and U.S. ebay if you used "featured item" but your bear is not there either.  I wonder if they have changed things so that  you only get one "featured item".  I'd email and ask them about it.  Click on help and see it there is "live chat" and that way you might get an answer quicker.   I don't think there is any way you can do another listing to exactly match the current one.  I'm not much help - sorry.

                                       hugs,

Thanks Brenda, I've sent ebay an email asking, I'll also look for the live chat.  I just hope he gets seen enough on .com, fingers crossed  bear_original

Catherine,
If it's any consolation, I think your bear will get the most exposure on Ebay.com.  Your bear will be available to the UK audience, but  unfortunately they have to know how to search for it.  It used to be that if you went to UK.com and searched for "available to the UK" or any other foreign ebay.com, the bears would show up if they are available "worldwide". etc.  I haven't searched that way for a while, but it should be the same, but the customer has to know to search that way.  Please post their reply for us, so we will all know if they have changed things.  Good luck with your auction - he is really sweet.

                                                    hugs,

Catherine,
Now I'm even more confused.  I just went to UK.com and did a search for available to the UK.  Your bear is there but not as a featured item, yet when I did a search for Bumpkin Bears - Dougal it shows up as a feature.  I'm curious to see what Ebay tells you.

                                                    hugs,

WELL the saga continues!  I've just spent 20 minutes banging my head against the desk with the live chat help on Ebay!  I tried to explain that my bears normally appear on both .com and .co.uk in the artist OOAK section without having to do any searches when I do not do a featured listing!  BUT now that I pay a lot more to do a featured listing my bear does not automatically appear on co.uk ooak section!!  They just kept saying that my bear would appear if you do the relevant searches, I KNOW that, but then people need to know to search instead of just going to the section and seeing the bear!

Here are some of the things they said if it helps anyone else out!  I'm more confuzzled than I was to start with

EBAY "It should appear on the eBay UK site but it won't be featured. You should be able to find it through the keyword search and the category search"

ME - "My bears have always appeared automatically on both sites before, only now that I pay for the featured listing is there a problem, rather strange."

EBAY - "Your item does come up when I search for it on eBay UK"

ME - bear_wacko "That's great, I do understand if I SEARCH specifically for it that I will find it, BUT people have to know to search for it - most collectors just go to the artist section and look at what they see."

EBAY - "they can find your item based on the title of the listing, using the keyword search. Or searching in this category: Dolls & Bears > Bears > Artist > Artist, One of a Kind"

ME - even more aggghhh!! "Yes, I understand THAT, what I do not understand is that my bears have always appeared on all worldwide sites without doing searching, I just go to the section artist ooak and there I see it without searching! So why it has not worked this time I do not understand. Does this mean if I want my bears to appear on both .com and co.uk WITHOUT people having to do a search then I have to pay two listing fees?"

EBAY - "Yes you would have to list it again on that site and use the featured option."

ME - "So when I have previously NOT used the featured option my bears appear on both sites without listing twice, but now that I use the featured option (paying a lot more) it does NOT appear on both sites?!! "

EBAY - "I have checked with our tech team and if you feature a listing on eBay it will only show on the site you featured it on. It won't be featured on the worldwide sites."

ME - "so if I want an item to appear on both .com and .co.uk and do NOT use the featured listing my item WILL appear on both sites? But if I DO use the featured option then my item will NOT appear on both sites? "

EBAY - "If you use the featured option it will only appear as featured on that site. If you list just regularly the items will be indexed according to the time it was listed on the site."

ME "ok thanks, strange though as you pay so much more for a featured option and then it does not appear on other sites. "

EBAY - "You are welcome. It's been a pleasure speaking with you today. Thank you for coming to eBay Live Chat, have a great eBay day."

WELLLLLL, I don't think I am any wiser to the workings of Ebay now than I was before I started but I thought this chat may entertain you or at least help me share my frustration and stop head banging the computer   bear_rolleyes  bear_wacko

I always thought you had to list your bear in 2 categories on eBay.com (ooak artist and other bears) before it automatically showed up in the eBay.co.uk Artist Bears section....................but i could be wrong.

hi Penny, you're quite right, that was the case.  However there is now an artist one of a kind section also on Ebay UK and the last two times I listed my bears on .com (not featured section) in the ooak area, and state that you ship worldwide then it also showed up on the UK ooak section automatically.  So then you did not need to list twice.!
