My beginings as a teacher take almost all my free time, and I just take a few short minutes to have a look on the forums.
My pupils are quite nice so far.
The coming couple of weeks may be busy too, as this will be one of these periods of the year when there will be these meetings of all teachers from every topic to discuss the marks and behaviour of every pupil. I will have 7 of these meetings (each supposed to last two hours).
Oh, i don't complain: this is so good to have a job!
Well, now it is bed time.
Take care all of you.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Sophie I so understand how you feel!
I shouldn't spend as much time on the boards myself... but working for yourself... sometimes is hard to find self dicipline
I am SO glad you are enjoying your job! and don't worry, you will make it thru the meetings!!
Next to being a mom I think teaching is the most important thing one generation can do for the next.
I imagine the first year or so are so difficult as you work out your systems
Don't worry about us, just enjoy your new life and plan on visiting when you can grab a moment.
We are all so proud of you Sophie, we know how anguished you were for so long looking for a job.
Just dont completly forget us.

I know how you feel Sophie and soon I will be there again. I'm going to renew my teaching certification so that I can go back to teaching. I taught for 8 years before my first son was born. It is an exhausting but very rewarding career! Hope it continues to go well for you!!!
Hi Sophie,
We understand how very busy you must be with your new career and those first few weeks will
be demanding with all the meetings etc.
So glad that you have your new job and best wishes for everything there.
Please come back and visit us when you have the time.
Hugs
Carolyn
I know what you mean , now working full time I can't spend so much time on the board. fortunately My boss lets us take our breaks on the computer or sometimes I would never get on here!!
Congrats again on the new job. Glad you are liking your new student.
Sophie, oh my! I hear you..
I spend 4 years teaching at the University and it was a good time but hard at the same time.
I tought Japanese to senior students and it was like I'm back to school myself!
So many preparation and home work, tests and other stuff..
I stayed late at nights and get up in the early morning.
(now I do the same actually, but instead of reading Japanese books, I sew bears.. )
Still, it is the most precious memories of my working experience.
Well, good luck!
Julia

Sophie , hang in there, what a great job you have.I am proud of you also !! Bear Hugs !!!
I had to pop in this evening for I need a break after this long day of teaching.
I have now met all my groups of pupils and have to say I am really happy with them (well, most of them). They were very nice with me.
Today, I had what I think will be my hardest group to work with. Only girls, about 15 of them. They study secretary jobs. They cannot stop chatting more than one minute!!!!!! I could not believe it. I think it will be a real challenge to get them quiet. I love challenges.
Oh, and you know what, I am getting hooked by that job,... already....
Today I met a few other teachers who are sharing some of my students and others. They are all very nice. I was queueing for lunch and saw there were other teachers near me in the queue so I simply began to chat with them. As a result I did not eat alone.
When at the professor room too, I go towards the others and chat with them when I can.
Well, that's the best way to get to know a maximum of teachers.
Other good news of the day, as I had things to do sith the admin people, they gave me my contract and told me that for this month, I will be paid more as I will be paid according to the number of hours I will be working. Then I will be getting the same salary for each month whatever the number of hours I work in a month. Strange French system... Just don't try to understand!
Take care!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
