For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Hi all.
I'm churning on a new project concept and wondered if anybody out there had a resource to recommend for loose mohair locks... the soft kind that's not attached to any backing, that you'd use as hair for a doll.
???
I know that at least one of our 700+ registered members (or maybe a shy lurker who's looking for an opportunity to help) will have a suggestion or two, so THANK YOU in advance!
You know, I saw diansdolls when I did a quick Google search; their site was the first and most obvious when I Googled the topic earlier today. The bummer is that they seem to be sold out or have marked 'not available' on the long, curly locks I'm most interested in.
Thanks anyway, though!
hey Shelli, I'm not sure if you neccessarily need it completely loose with NO backing, but you can buy extremely, fine, soft mohair (wavy, curly) still on the hide. I literally JUST bought some for doll making... I wonder if this is what you are looking for?

It's very nice quality IMO.

I got mine off ebay a while ago. The lady was from Australia. Great fun stuff to work with. I have a tonne if you can't find anyway.
These seem like great resources, but if you need more, email me and I'll dig up who my source is.
Shelli, you probably know this site already. But they have a great number of mohair locks.
