hello, I hope I can explain this.

I want to sew feet. Kind of like duck feet. So what I can't figure out, is how to use a machine and sew on the outside of the foot. Once it's already turned right side out.

i'm sure you quilters know this for sure. I just can't seem to find a way to keep it neat. What do I do with the hanging threads from the machine??

i don't think sewing and then turning will give me the look I want. There  must be some sort of finishing stitch no??

Hope I made sense, thanks for your replies

Your such a funny bugga Heather bear_grin  bear_grin
The 'hanging threads' get pulled through with a hand sewing needle and knotted off.
And for the rest. Practice makes neat. bear_grin just do a small running stitch and take it slow. bear_thumb

Yup, Wendy said it.

You can also knot the threads first while they are on the outside, then with a hand needle pull the threads and knot through. That's what we do in quilting cause you can't get to the inside of the quilt to knot the threads! :)

Get out a couple pieces of scrap fabric like what you are going to sew on and practice on that scrap material first until you get the 'feel' for it.

Wait, Heather.......
One more thing. When you start sewing take one stitch and then grab the end of the top thread and pull the bobbin thread to the top of your fabric so then both ends are on top. Makes it easier to tie a knot. I know this makes no sense but if you sit in front of your machine and do it, it might!!! bear_thumb

Hi Heather
You could also sew it, turn it and then top stitch it on the outside. If this makes the feet smaller then just make the pattern a little larger to allow for the seam allowance
