Phew, this one has been hard work! He's a special commission for a customer and is intended as a Christmas gift for her husband, so I needed him to definitely be masculine after my recent burst of girly bears!
'Black Magic' is a whopping 26" of pure beefcake! He is created in Intercal's dense 1" alpaca and I've given him bright blue hand painted eyes to give his personality an extra magical sparkle for Christmas! I think I'll need a lie down after I've carried him to the post office today!!
Paula I love your bears more and more.
He is a hunk!
My gosh - he is AMAZING!!! He even has muscles!!
I waaaaant this one !
BEAUTIFUL Paula. His eyes are stunning!
He's gorgeous, Paula, and you've taken really great photos of him; black is hard to photograph. Terrific burly guy!
Well he is a big boy isn't he!! And adorable to boot.

Jane P.
Oh boy! He is certainly one heck of a big b****!!! Besides that he is a another wonderful bear Paula and you've photographed him very well - always hard taking pictures of the darker bears.
Hugs Lyn

Paula , wow wow and wow!
He is outstanding in every way! I agree that black is the hardest to sew, to photo, to shade..
But you guy is so cool! Love him!
Hugs, Julia
How lovely to find your messages here this morning! Thank you!
I think I just got lucky with these photos, black always causes a headache, but this time my little digicam coped okay!! Jane, you're dead right, sewing this guy really tired my eyes. I don't think I'll be doing another black bear for a little while! (Although having said that, I have way too much black alpaca in my stash ... so I may have to work on it again sooner than I'd prefer. Making black bears is hard work! )
Oh paula, I'm in love..........
oo he's a fantastic hunk of a bear Paula, I know what you mean about sewing black, it's really hard on the eyes. I should think you've got muscles on top of muscles carrying him to the post office, I have to carry my bears to the post office to post in the neighbouring village, round trip of about an hour walking..
have a good rest :)
Hugs
Catherine
What a nice bear ! The pictures even turned out nicely. I always have problems taking pictures of dark bears.
Very nice job!
Hugs,
Marion
So glad you have all enjoyed meeting 'Black Magic'! Thank you all again!!
Ellen, I know what you mean about feeling as though you're hibernating ... that's EXACTLY how I feel too! Today I made myself walk to the post box, just to escape the house and the sewing for ten minutes. How I long for a proper day off and the chance to see the sky!!
as we say in scotland "what a stotter".One of the most beautiful bears I ever saw!!!!

Paula he is fantastic!
I know what it is like to sew a black bear it takes twice as long as any other colour, he must have taken ages being so big. That alpaca is fabulous. Hugs Kerren
