...to

organize my work room

first and and foremost!  It's realsitic and do-able....once I set my mind to it bear_whistle  bear_whistle  bear_whistle
bear_wacko

And then Hubby and I are adding onto our Ballroom Dancing  skills by taking private Samba lessons.

What are yours?

All ready???!!!!   bear_shocked

I love your resolutions, Judi...as you say, very doable  bear_happy And I'm sure you and hubby will be hot stuff once you've mastered the Samba  bear_thumb  bear_flower   Personally I think you two are amazing all ready, but what fun to learn a new dance together  bear_wub

For myself, I'm going to resolve to learn a little more aromatherapy.  I have the dinkiest crockpot in my bear room, and I've been using lemon and peppermint oils like mad to help be uplifting and 'clear thinking' (that's where the peppermint comes in  bear_happy ) I just love the smells, and I've noticed it makes me happier.  I want to work on them a little more this upcoming year to see if I can make the house just a little more pleasant ~ a very hard task given how much filtration we have due to the mushroom cultures.  But its 'doable'  bear_grin

Secondly, in the year 2007 I WILL take an airbrushing class from Nancy/Judi!!!! I WILL, I WILL, I WILL!!!  I've been wanting to take this class since August and so many things have popped up to thwart my plans  bear_angry   So I'm ultimately determined to get this skill under my belt  bear_wub

Expand my bear business and spend less time on the computer. I can do the former if I do the latter!

Debbie, I'll do the airbrushiing class with you! My Paache intimidates me!!!!

(Wait, that puts me back on the computer! Oh, I give up!)

I reslove to never make another new year's resolution! I'll fail anyway! Why set one's self up for failure?

Mine is to organize my time better so I can get more bears done! Do-able? Yes!  With some effort and planning of course.
(edited several hours later to add: Now that I've frittered the whole day away playing on the computer, you can see that I really need to do this! Discipline! That's what I need. Someone behind me cracking a whip! bear_laugh  bear_laugh  bear_laugh)

No diet resolutions for me this year, but I do plan to stick to a more regular exercise schedule. I just feel better and have more energy when I get more exercise. This should help with my first resolutions too! bear_thumb

I also need to take more time to comment on all the wonderful creations in the showcase and for sale forums. I truly admire everyone's talent and all your beautiful creations certainly deserve more attention!

Oh Bonnie, good for you to not have a diet resolution!! I threw out my scale 17 years ago and guess what, I lost 35 lbs in two years! Go figure. Never tried to lose weight. I was happier for it too, not being a slave to the scale or diet.

As for the exercise thing, well, when I try to exercise I feel hot, tired, sweaty and hungry!! But alas, I must try. So my resolution is to cut down on the number of times I must go to the gym and find myself going to bed until the need to exercise passes.

Me too, organize my time better, get more bears made.  Stop taking soooooooooo many breaks! LOL

Work out more this year! I feel better when I workout at least 4 times a week.
I was good this year, I stopped eating red meat and started eating more veggies and in the process lost
20 pounds.  So I'm proud of this year, ready for a new one.

My new years resolution is not to complain so much about the hot flashes. To see more of my darling Grandchildren. And to be a better participant on TT. To not sweat the small stuff. To thank God for every day and to be sure to tell all of my family every day that I love them.

Simply put....to change from "could have, would have, should have" to be happy with who I am in the moment.

Oh Debbie, when you learn more will you please share with us?  I LOVE aromas...good one's like you mentioned, Peppermint.   I also love lavendar.  It's supposed to have a calming effect.  I also burn candles..Infact I have four going right now. bear_flower

I just bought a microwavable heating pad filled with 12 aromatherpay herbs.  I love it!  They had mint pillows and all sorts of things.  The biz is called Heaven's Therapy and they have a website...not sure of the exact address but if you google it I am sure it will come up.

Daphne, do you have a Paasche H?  If so, it's really easy.  Just take the alan wrench ("L" shaped tool) and loosen the screw at the base of the needle/tip holder.  Then unscrew the cap from the needle tip, with yrou fingers, and slide it apart.  Wella!  If you can make fabulous movie star bunnies than I KNOW you can do this   bear_thumb  bear_thumb  bear_thumb

Are New Year's resolutions like a "To Do" list? Cause I have one of those about a mile long!!!!!

Find a new house
Buy new house
Move into new house
Decorate new house
Learn to Knit
Learn to Airbrush (and dis/re-assemble said airbrush!)
Keep my business paperwork up to date
Promote my bear shows
Make more bears
See where else I can butt my nose into in the bear industry
Teach more classes
Take a cooking class
Update my website (ack!)
Do some scrap booking
Clean new house (bottom of list!)

PRAY MORE...... WHINE LESS!!!

Dilu Posts: 8,574

To be a good nurse to mom in law, when she moves up to her new house on our property....to be patient and kind and keep my screaming for the pillow in my own house with bag pipe music playing very loudly

To try and not spend so much money-except what I get for the gollies.....and except when the gollies don't bring in enough and I need supplies to keep going.....that's fair....right?

To always smile when Rick comes in the door....sometimes this year I haven't been so smiley, and it seems to me that one can smile even in pain....maybe the pain isn't so bad then?

to cherish the friends I have, and thank God for the blessing of their friendship

To add to the list other cherished friends, and rejoice in their happiness and successes

To remember always that there but for the Grace of God....and be thankful for my life and the blessing inherent in my life, and to share to the best of my ability with those less fortunate....always....

Is it really that time again?  Where has the time gone?   bear_wacko

My one resolution for the year?  To try three new things.  This past year, now don't laugh, I cooked fresh vegetables for the first time.  I grew a tropical garden and I had over a hundred people at my house for my daughters wedding.  No small feat, let me tell you!!

What's the plan for this year?  I'll get back to you on that one.  I still have a few days left in the year to plot my course.

I am joining my friend in ballroom dancing, something I have always wanted to do and now is the time.

I will also treat all people who upset me like hot potatoes and " Drop them"

You all have some great resolutions! I'm inspired to add to my own list: I resolve to try harder to forgive and let go of the past issues, plan ahead, but not worry so much about the future and to be present in the moment!

Resolution/Personal goal for this year is to physically volunteer my time and services to a local charitable organization.  We've always been very good about giving monies to charities..from large scale cancer fighting organizations to the man outside the supermarket selling poppies for veterans...but this year I would like very much to donate my time.  I can't do habitat and things like that because of some health issues, but other things I'd be very happy to do. I'm looking into a few local organizations now.

Oh, and for us to use the treadmill I paid a ridiculous amount of money for 3.5 years ago.  The cats think it's a giant pet bed. 10-20 minutes of nice slow walking 2-3 times a week in the winter months to start....better tell the cats now so as not to scare the fur off of them when their mega lounger suddenly starts whirring and moving.
